POPSNew Brunswick Veterinarians To Stop Cropping & Docking Good news for dogs! Too bad the breeders are so heartless and self-centered. vet: "People say it doesn't really hurt them, but they scream when you do it" Hopefully it will be illegal for anyone to crop or dock to discourage breeders from mutilating dogs, causing unnecessary pain and risking infection.

POPS Beltway "Earmark" Business is Booming .............Pelosi Uses Panic to Pass Pork........ Year-end spending bill doubles cost of earmarks, violates President’s earmark principles; Obey says pet projects added "the old fashioned way" Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) expressed disappointment that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi used the focus on the financial crisis to pass billions of dollars on thousands of new earmarks included in the continuing resolution (CR), which funds the government through March of next year. The $16.1 billion for 2,627 earmarks in the CR is nearly double the cost of pet projects in the same bills from last year, and almost four times the level the President said he would except. In January, the President promised to "veto any appropriations bill Congress sends him that does not cut the number and cost of earmarks in half."

POPSJohn the #1 Drama Queen Appearing Sunday on ABC's "This Week," McCain said he had been too busy "working on all the other stuff" to cast a vote. Asked if he would have voted against it, McCain said he would have tried to cut the "outrageous pork-barrel spending" in the bill, but "probably would have ended up voting for it." Guess it's more about the drama and grandstanding. Is this what a McBush Presidency would look like? Obama missed the vote too but then he also avoided the grandstanding.

POPS20% of Profit from $700 Billion Snafu Pegged for Democrats' Pet PAC! While Democrats are busy waffling between blaming the whole standoff on McCain and claiming that he contributed little to the discussion (Pelosi called his participation a "blip"), these liberals failed to mention Dodd had earmarked 20% of profits from the $700 billion bailout to go to ACORN, a liberal PAC accused of vote fraud! Ask yourself why Pelosi's so hot to push a Bush plan in the first place...

POPSSchool bags can be a pain in the neck When i went to school the textbooks weighed a ton, but I end up working out how to strap my bag to an airport trolly, and tow it behind my bike. Never had any trouble. at least not with my bike. School on the other hand was one of my pet hates, but i worked out how to make it so they weren't looking for me, then i could go home...but that's another story

POPSPalin Plays the Hillary Card, Blatant Attempt to Swing Women Voters
A blatant appeal to feminist sexism here by Palin to chase women votes, i.e. vote for me because I am the woman candidate you wanted (forget everything else)! It was disgusting when Hillary played it, but now Palin does likewise. There is some truth to what she says, but her blatant flattery (which the Bible condemns as hypocrisy) of Hillary is dishonest (and she gets called on it in this clip). The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips--Ps. 12:3 ...including Palin's. Clearly the purpose here is to 1) preempt speculation that Biden will be swapped for Hillary after a reported meeting with Bill Clinton, and 2) to go after the embittered Hillary supporters who vowed to not support Obama. Palin here is trying to pick off the most vulnerable of the Democratic flock. Seriously now, does the GOP and republicans agree with her praises of Hillary? Let's hear now if Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly agree with her--if they dare!

POPSFDA: Melamine Found In Baby Formula In China Reports in the Chinese news media say that as many as 60 babies have been admitted to hospitals with kidney stones and that the illnesses have been linked to powdered formula. In March 2007, the discovery that pet food was causing kidney disease and death in dogs and cats across North America led to the largest pet food recall in U.S. history. Melamine and a related chemical, cyanuric acid, had been added to grain products in China to fraudulently increase their apparent protein content, making them appear to be gluten. The products were sold as gluten to U.S. and Canadian pet food manufacturers.
