Bush blames the democrats for poor veterans programs, due to their unwillingness to rubber stamp military spending. He talks about allowing the likes of Hitler, and "Lenin, and the consequences. The dictator is here, and the consequences are patently obvious, and immediate. The War is the Second American Civil War. The Aristocracy vs The People. Just look at the real defense of the U.S. homeland. There hasn't been a whit. Katrina, California, The National guard, the poverty that is consuming more, and more people who thought they had a secure lifestyle and income. (Mr. Obama was an Illinois state senator before that.) When asked about Mr. Clinton’s comments Saturday in Waterloo, Iowa, Mr. Obama smiled and read words Mr. Clinton used in 1992 — “the same old experience is irrelevant” — to answer questions about his own presidential candidacy. Mr. Clinton looked agitated at times as he talked about recent campaign problems faced by his wife. At one point, Mr. Rose said that, in his control room, aides to Mr. Clinton were trying to persuade the show’s producers to end the interview.

The chance of a quake 7.5 or greater in the next 30 years is 46%. As we saw after the Loma Prieta quake, the government and emergency responders will not be able to help everybody, and each of us will need to help ourselves and the people around us.

POPSUS navy sonar takes precedence over whales: Bush So, the President, whose main responsibility is to protect US citizens and establish national security, has given precedence to naval operations over the protection of sea mammals off-shore. Amazing. A President who places protection of us over animals. What a novel idea! He'll be blasted but whatever.......Save the whales, save the manatees, save the forests, save the Everglades, save the panthers....you name it. We DO have a responsibility to protect and secure our environment, but this stuff (and other restrictions that thwart energy independence and security) is ridiculous. Both can be accomplished.
