Do We Live in a Multiverse?
wildcat
by wildcat  11-29-2006
PD: The "leap of faith" needed to accept the existence of a multiverse is greater than that normally expected of scientists, which is to assume the unexplained existence of the laws of physics, although it is perhaps less than that required for belief in a cosmic designer who made a universe fit for life." wildcat concurs

Denier is the new heretic.
willhelm
by willhelm  7-17-2007    1
When an ignorant moron takes to calling someone a denier they are showing they cannot deal in the real world of facts and science. More typical foolishness of the LIARS that fall for such lunacy. I call them liars because they cannot make a case. They do not discuss the merits of the science and usually display they have no clue what they are talking about. They call Bush a liar because of perhaps faulty intelligence. However, on the global warming issue the facts are clear.

Misquoting Jesus
travislaborde
by travislaborde  7-17-2007    5
When a supposed "Christian" publisher wants you to think that the Bible is basically the world's first wikipedia article - you know you should stay away from his books, right? However, I lay the blame for this right at God's own feet. The whole "language" issue is His doing. The Bible says that in our early history all people spoke the same language, and that He decided to change that for us. So, for some reason, I guess He *wants* this sort of debate to be occur. But let me leave you with this - the KJV Bible is in the public domain. There is a *LOT* of money to be made in new translations. If I'm not mistaken Mr Ehrman has made a lot of that money for himself.

Should XXX sites have to use a .XXX domain name?
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  1-19-2007    12
Once again a report shows why we can not legislate proper behavior. I personally think that an XXX domain would be a great way for all pornographers to have their own home on the web place to gather. But like other legislation of this nature it would be worthless to attempt if they are going to allow the porn industry to continue to cloak itself in the .com world to appear legitimate. Those who wish to seek out this type of "entertainment" will find it no matter where it resides in the community. Therefore creating a virtual "Red Light District" would probably work as well as prohibition did. This one certainly belongs in the LOONY BIN.

“Users are vulnerable and are at risk of an attacker silently installing malicious software on their computers. This possibility exists whenever the user cannot trust their domain name server (DNS) or network connection. Examples of this include public wireless networks, and users connected to compromised home routers,” says Soghoian on his slight paranoia blogspot.
