Upload a photo and it is compared against a database of celebrities. Fun and pretty accurate. This didn't clip very well and there wasn't an actual description that was clipable. Try it with different photos.

She's Her Own Twin
CrazyRedHead
by CrazyRedHead  5-20-2009    3
In human biology, a chimera is an organism with at least two genetically distinct types of cells -- or, in other words, someone meant to be a twin. But while in the mother's womb, two fertilized eggs fuse, becoming one fetus that carries two distinct genetic codes -- two separate strands of DNA. The twin is invisible, but for chimeras the twin lives microscopically inside the body as DNA.

Gait may be associated with orgasmic ability
Silkweaver
by Silkweaver  9-5-2008    4
There are several plausible explanations for the results shown by this study. One possibility is that a woman's anatomical features may predispose her to greater or lesser tendency to experience vaginal orgasm. According to Brody, "Blocked pelvic muscles, which might be associated with psychosexual impairments, could both impair vaginal orgasmic response and gait." In addition, vaginally orgasmic women may feel more confident about their sexuality, which might be reflected in their gait. "Such confidence might also be related to the relationship(s) that a woman has had, given the finding that specifically penile-vaginal orgasm is associated with indices of better relationship quality," the authors state. Research has linked vaginal orgasm to better mental health. The study provides some support for assumptions of a link between muscle blocks and sexual function, according to the authors. They conclude that it may lend credibility to the idea of incorporating training in movement, br

Narcissistic People Most Likely To Emerge As Leaders
balthazarus
by balthazarus  10-11-2008    1
It is important not to confuse narcissism with high self-esteem, she said. “A person with high self-esteem is confident and charming, but they also have a caring component and they want to develop intimacy with others,” Brunell explained. “Narcissists have an inflated view of their talents and abilities and are all about themselves. They don’t care as much about others.”

Just a quick note for anyone wanting an easier way to link to search results pages. Simply wrap the term in double square brackets term ] ], and the comments parser will now turn it into a link. I had a few minutes free today, and skiff had suggested it, so we added it. (hint: see source for more bbcode tips, like how you can do the same with links to clipper pages) Enjoy the weekend!

Selectively Deleting Memories
Silkweaver
by Silkweaver  10-23-2008    2
"One thing that we're really intrigued by is that this is a selective erasure," Tsien says. "We know that erasure occurred very quickly, and was initiated by the recall itself." "But people are very interested in devising a way where you could come up with a drug to expedite a way to do that," he says. That kind of treatment could change a memory by scrambling things up just in the neurons that are active during the specific act of the specific recollection. "That would be a very powerful thing," Mayford says. But the puzzle is an incredibly complex one, and getting to that point will take a vast amount of additional research. "Human memory is so complicated, and we are just barely at the foot of the mountain," Tsien says.

Scientists stop the aging process.
pokkets
by pokkets  8-11-2008    2
Perhaps suspend. In a mouse liver. The findings linked aging to the ability of cells to expel toxins, which when not removed cause a buildup which results in degeneration. The degeneration then reducing the ability to remove toxins. The toxins that are removed are generally natural, but I don't know how the results would extend to artificial toxins which are leeching through our environments.
