Members of the U.S. Congress and the Iraqi parliament will soon slither away to the shade of cooler rocks, and President Bush will no doubt head off to Crawford to take his frustrations out on some brush with a chainsaw. Meanwhile, in Iraq, the 60,000 American combat troops who daily patrol the most dangerous streets and roads in the world will carry on fighting, dying and bleeding in the broiling sun where temperatures nudge the 130-degree mark and 40 pounds of body armor and Kevlar helmet plus weapon and ammunition weigh more with every step an Infantryman takes. The politicians in Washington and Baghdad will take their summer breaks, happy to postpone any further thought of Iraq at least until September, when the U.S. commander Gen. POPSOn Wickedness Conservatives wickedly play to unreason because being unreasonable is part of what human beings are. Indeed, it is part of the pleasure of being human. The recognition of this is part of what makes conservatism conservative. And it's not going away. I'm reading what I wrote above, and still haven't got to the bottom of what I want to convey. So expect more soon. Trust that I am not offering a counsel of despair. Here, in fact, is a fine piece of writing that gets at why, to tide you over until I figure out a better way to explain that the human reality of unreason does not ever have to be an alibi for progressive defeat, and has, indeed, underwritten many of progressivism's most famous victories.

POPSDream Symbols These symbols and meanings are taken from a variety of sources but primarily from my own dreams and the dreams of associates. You must take into account the probability that some of these might be my own personal symbols which have been substituted for the universal or cultural symbols. This is caused by having a life experience with something which becomes more powerful in your subconscious memory banks than the universal symbol being given it by the superconscious. I have tried my best to sort my symbols into universal and personal symbols and hope that I have made at least a good start on it. But you must test them on your own dreams to see if they make natural common sense in the context of the dream. My advice is to never accept an interpretation...even from yourself...until you are sure that you have arrived at the correct meaning.

POPSShhhh, be vawy vawy quiet, egoldstein is sleeping! Yes, I think it's finally happened! Though I can't confirm, I aim'd him with "wipe the drool off your chin wake up and quit slacking would ya!!" and he didn't respond, so I'm left to believe he has finally crashed... Anyway, he needs it badly so I'm very happy for him.
