New Brunswick Veterinarians To Stop Cropping & Docking
gingembre
by gingembre  Yesterday 10:22 AM
Good news for dogs! Too bad the breeders are so heartless and self-centered. vet: "People say it doesn't really hurt them, but they scream when you do it" Hopefully it will be illegal for anyone to crop or dock to discourage breeders from mutilating dogs, causing unnecessary pain and risking infection.

Trizeon - Right Keyword Density
karunapuli
by karunapuli  10-1-2008
Keyword density is the percentage of occurrence of keywords or phrases on a webpage to the total number of words. It can be used as a factor to find if a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. The number of keywords used on a webpage makes a difference to all of the search engine algorithms.

Once Endangered, Now Recovering
balthazarus
by balthazarus  9-23-2008
hunters were taking the canary-yellow young langurs from their cliff-face strongholds, and villagers were leveling the forest for firewood. Dr. Pan quickly hired wardens to protect the remaining animals but then went a step further, taking on the larger social and economic factors jeopardizing the species. Dr. Pan recognized the animal’s origin myth as legend, but he also believed that alleviating the region’s continuing poverty was essential for their long-term survival. In the 24-square-kilometer nature reserve where he has focused his studies, the langur population increased to more than 500 today from 96 in 1996.

Stock Market Continues Fall, Fed Bails Out AIG
blueridge
by blueridge  9-17-2008    2
Crisis continues. AIG gets what Lehman Bros did not--a bail out by the Fed. Maybe the fact that Lehman Bros hired Jeb Bush as advisor a year ago and another Bush as asset manager (see previous clipmark on Lehman) did have a role in deciding not to bail out Lehman, which sent the market into a tail spin as investors and pension companies change their portfolios away from these firms at risk. The Fed's "loan" will be in the form of printing more money (devaluing the dollar, increasing inflation) by the Fed (which is not a government institution, but private bank cartel). The Treasury Dept endorsed it, which is a reflection of the Bush administration. The Fed bailout really is the nationalization of AIG (a mark of socialism, communism), since they did it for a "return of 80% public stake in the firm". The Fed "owns" AIG now.

Why Google Releases Half-Baked Products
Andy Greenberg
by Andy Greenberg  9-9-2008
Basically, Nick Carr is arguing that Google is exploiting something like the long tail in its product releases. It may only have a few hits--products like Gmail, for instance--but the cost of development is low enough that even a marginal traffic bump to its ads makes new features worthwhile. Hence all the Google products that seem to be languishing in semi-obscurity, like Knol, Android and Open Social.

Ouch!... Palin Slams Obama On His Ridiculous Surge Stands
merrie
by merrie  9-6-2008
Experienced Governor Palin blasted him on his surge stands today: Watch MSNBC video at site: http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/ouch-palin-slams-obama-on-his.html In more bad news for the democratic media conglomerate-- 10,000 subscribers called Us magazine to cancel their subscriptions after their hit piece on Sarah Palin. Hat Tip Andy B. And, Patrick corrected my earlier numbers... Over 40 million watched Sarah Palin on Wednesday not 37 million. The Nielsen ratings showed that Palin attracted a huge female audience of 19.5 million women, nearly 5 million larger than the third day of the Democratic convention when Hillary Clinton spoke. Sarah better look out. The media is hot on her tail and not because they like her. http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/one-is-two-palin-now-more-popular-than.html

merrie
by merrie  9-5-2008    2
Ooooooooh, Sarah-Bara-COO-dah! If you read the actual lyrics though, this clearly is a song to be sung by Barack Obama. He's just realized that he's about to be ambushed from the weeds by the Barracuda, and forced to his knees. Not long ago, he and "the porpoise" (Joe Biden, pre-hair plugs) were just "Selling a song," with "no right, no wrong" — just playing "a whisper game" involving a "name." This is clearly a reference to the "McSame" meme on which they were relying so much. And "sell me, sell you," the porpoise and the singer croon to each other in close harmony. Oh, yeah: It's about Obama and Biden, all right.
