"Others have also speculated that the actions may be related to Iran opening its oil bourse on the 12th of February. The bourse is considered a direct threat to the continued global dominance of the dollar because it will require that Iranian oil, petrochemicals and gas be traded in non-dollar currencies."

Weird Hotels
revenantdm

The author of Weirdomatic.com may think they are weird but I LOVE THEM! OK, all but the Coffins in Japan. I read too many cyberpunk novels in the 80s! The Mayan Pyramid is only in the planning stages but it is due to open in 2010... My favorite without a doubt is the Beckham Canyon Cavern Hotel...

Tsunami devastates western Solomons
invictus
by invictus  4-2-2007
The magnitude-8 quake struck shortly after 7:39 a.m. six miles beneath the sea floor, about 215 miles northwest of the Solomons capital, Honiara, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Within five minutes, waves 10-16 feet tall roared ashore and went up to half a mile inland, inundating buildings and sending thousands fleeing for higher ground, witnesses said. The Pacific region went on high alert for several hours after the quake struck between the islands of Bougainville and New Georgia, with Sydney's famous Bondi among beaches closed more than 1,250 miles away in Australia.

shaine
by shaine  6-8-2007
This is actually a big problem everywhere. Thiefs are going to construction sites to raid copper. Air conditioning units are being taken. Locally, AT&T had to replace a big chunk of phone cable they left exposed overnight. People are getting electocuted trying to steel live wires. All kinds of mayhem is occurring due to the high price of copper.
