POPSIs Google Making Us Stupid? Thinking makes my head hurt! Carr, the author of the piece, illustrates his point using a scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey, where HAL, the supercomputer, begs Dave not to terminate him. Ironically, as I was reading the article, a car commercial came on TV, parodying that same scene to advertise its GPS. And I had only just seen the ending to 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time a few days ago--just that one scene--so I fully appreciated his point. Talk about deja vu! Or maybe I just imagined it all...

POPSWho Should Rock Obama? Inauguration 09 (!)
Yesterday houses of prayer and worship throughout the nation (and others) rang bells, lit candles, lit incense, offered prayers, blessings, good will to the new President-elect. The previous week were tributes from world leaders, USA politicians,, rock stars and Hollywood celebrities, sports stars, TV announcers and pundits, Radio DJ's, activist groups and people everywhere on the street or from their offices. TV news, in a desperate bid to keep viewers now that the elections are over, tried to pretend which bred of dog(s) Obama should get for his kids was a topic of national interest. But - BOOM! - What the people were really interested in and what they wanted exploded onto the scene (just like who they wanted elected, ! exploded, despite stupid or negative meda) -- The Inauguration. Inauguration tickets. Inauguration hotel and dinner reservations. Some memorabilia and... MUSIC! Cast your vote on this web page's unofficial contest. (Note: 'Movin' On Up' is a joke

POPSSo Far It's About $250K or $200K or $150K or $120K Income Bracket
“Sen. Obama has made a lot of promises,” McCain said. “First, he said people making less than $250,000 would benefit from his plan. Then this weekend, he announced in an ad that if you’re a family making less than $200,000, you’ll benefit. But yesterday, right here in Pennsylvania, Sen, Biden said tax relief should only go to ‘middle class people -- people making under $150,000 a year.’ It’s interesting how their definition of rich has a way of creeping down.” As reported by MSNBC, the Obama campaign later said Biden was citing “an example of what someone making that amount would get under Obama’s tax plan. Indeed, Biden’s $150,000 remark came after he referred to someone making $1.4 million.” MSNBC also points out that Obama said at one forum in August that, under his plan, “if you make $150,000 or less, you will see a tax cut. If you’re making $250,000 a year or more, you’re going to see a modest increase.” I thought the tax-cut threshold was $200,000, not $150,000.

POPSSaturday Night Live Clips Have Larger Audience on 'Net Than on TV! Tina Fey parodies of Sarah Palin have picked up popularity on the Internet. More people watched the clips on-line than on TV. Saturday Night Live plans to do a new website. The trend of Internet video watching may lead to changes in advertising as video producers search for ways to capitalize on on-line videos.

POPSMcCain Lied about William Ayers I posted a clip earlier about how Sarah Palin will grasp at any opportunity to lie about Obama. McCain is doing the same thing, despite proof to the contrary. I have never understood how anyone can be stupid enough to lie about something that can so easily be proven. America cannot afford to have people of this low character to represent us. Contiued embarrassment.
