POPSWhat Becomes of the Broken-Hearted? I'm not unduly excited by the political aspects of this, but wonder under what flag the bitter and broken-hearted will now gather to vent their collective despair?

POPSObama & The Wired Presidency Armed with an e-mail database of 10 million supporters, Barack Obama is poised to instantiate the first "wired presidency." Obama used his e-mail database to great effect during the election. He could use it to great effect to marshal support for his policies as President as well.

POPSMandate? Stop it. There is no "mandate" Moreover.... if a white democrat candidate had run with Obama's qualifications and experience, there was no way he would have been elected. Racisim put Dear Leader in the White House.

POPSThis is funny! Good for a chuckle...by
prin1 Yesterday 7:57 AM The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?" The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it. " The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

POPSObama and McCain Meet This strikes me as probably more than a "let bygones be bygones" photo op. McCain's loss was an expensive one for him in terms of political capital. He's on the outs with his party right now. If he's close to the Obama White House, he has some leverage to get some of his stuff done. It would also be helpful for Obama to have some pull with the senate GOP. Like they say, if you can't beat 'em...

POPSWe are Not a Center-Right Country We built the United Nations, We started the idea of human rights, We expanded voting rights and civil rights for everybody, We spread the idea of individual rights throughout the world, We even rebuilt our enemies after World War II. It is no exaggeration to say that America is one of the most progressive countries in the history of the world.

POPSThe Real Racists in the Obama/McCain Election This is politically incorrect but statistically undeniable and hereby proven. Just who really was it that voted based upon race alone? Blacks, 96 percent Obama to 3 percent McCain Yet the charge will never be leveled at this demographic group, but why not? It is blatantly true. Did blacks really not consider any other principles or policies? Apparently only 4 percent did in this monolithic vote. Frankly, (dare we say so), the mob block vote of blacks has all the appearance of a demographic gang solely based upon the zeal to beat out whites for positions of power. So whites should be in large cleared, as a population group, from the charge of racism, despite the MSM preachers constantly harassing and forcing the charge. Their own statistics now have settled the matter for good. The results here speak more loudly than the rhetoric of all the politically-correct pundits now writing the headlines touting the first Black President.

POPSObama's First Pick an Israeli for Chief of Staff This reported by Israeli press, in their words. What kind of foreign policy and war policy "change" does this forecast versus that of the neoconservatives of the Bush administration? the son of a Jerusalem-born pediatrician who was a member of the Irgun (Etzel or IZL), a militant Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948.

POPSObama's 'Change' and Rahm-bo: Neo-conned Again? This article, if read, will burst the bubble of belief by Obama cheerleaders. (Did Pelosi or a Dem Congress change anything either?) Roberts does not spare Obama any more than he did Bush: War policy: In “Hail to the Chief of Staff,” Alexander Cockburn describes Emanuel as “a super-Likudnik hawk,” who as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006 “made great efforts to knock out antiwar Democratic candidates.” The neoconservatives were and are intimately tied to the Israeli Likud Party with its militant Zionist war agenda for a "new middle east". On Economy: Obama’s advisers are drawn from the same gang of Washington thugs and Wall Street banksters as Bush’s. Consider Obama's support of Lieberman then too, who supported McCain and is another "super-Likudnik hawk" when it comes to Israel and war policy. Get the picture yet? Some very important policies (primary ones) will not "change" at a

POPSGOP Sen.: Electoral Rout McCain's Fault Am I the only one who sees that freedom and "religious-based values" are often contradictory? After all, the Taliban has "religious-based values." DeMint in his own words: McCain, who is proponent of campaign finance reform that weakened party organizations and basically put George Soros in the driver's seat. His proposal for amnesty for illegals. His support of global warming, cap-and-trade programs that will put another burden on our economy. And of course, his embrace of the bailout right before the election was probably the nail in our coffin this last election. And he has been an opponent of drilling in ANWR, at a time when energy is so important. It really didn't fit the label, but he was our package. I totally called this . DeMint -- and a lot of GOPers -- believe they lost because they weren't crazy enough. Good news for Democrats in future elections.

POPSNo $$ for you Democrats are suggesting, however, an even more ambitious reason to nationalize. Once the government owns Detroit, it can remake it. The euphemism here is “retool” Detroit to make cars for the coming green economy. If you think we have economic troubles today, consider the effects of nationalizing an industry of this size, but now run by bureaucrats issuing production quotas to fit five-year plans to meet politically mandated fuel-efficiency standards — to lift us to the sunny uplands of the coming green utopia.

POPS Al Gore For What? President-elect Barack Obama's transition team is flirting with creating a White House "Climate Czar," but climate change crusader Al Gore says he doesn't want the job. Obama transition chief John Podesta promoted a similar idea earlier in his role as president of the Center for American Progress, a liberal Washington think tank. Mr. Podesta authored a white paper calling for an Energy Security Council within the White House to oversee climate change and clean energy initiatives. The czar and the council would coordinate agencies, including the Energy and Interior departments and the Environmental Protection Agency. POPS"Dear newsmedia: your imaginary friends are having an imaginary fight" I can't decide whether I'm more amused or annoyed by how often one sees news articles that say things like "from a highly-placed source who spoke on conditions of anonymity because of a prohibition on talking to reporters". Hello there, what part of "don't talk about it" do you think doesn't apply to you?

POPSObama to YouTube Weekly Addresses Think about it; when was the last time you heard the President's Weekly Radio Address on the radio? He does it every week, but almost no one carries it anymore. WhiteHouse.gov v2.0 wants to make sure it gets out there and, since YouTube videos can be embedded in any blog or news site, it will. Look for the GOP, with their own version of tech savvy, to make the Republican response available by telegraph.

POPS Emergency Loans For Detroit's Big Three Could Set Up Showdown Between Congress, White House Executives with the Detroit automakers and the head of the United Auto Workers are expected to make their case at a hearing next Wednesday before Frank's committee. A House vote on Frank's measure could come as early as next Thursday. Democratic leaders also are considering pairing the measure with a broader economic aid bill, including money for unemployed workers whose jobless benefits have run out, aides said.
