POPSPoem - White Apples I really like this poem, it is a bit similar to one I just wrote without ever having read this one previous to its creation.

POPSWords, words, words Time’s Karen Tumulty, who spotted racist goblins in the recent McCain ad criticizing Obama for seeking advice from Fannie Mae corruptocrat Franklin Raines. A parade of congressional witch hunters for Obama also detects the specter of George Wallace behind every policy bush. Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson says conservative criticism of Obama’s community organizing days is code for “black.” Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks complained to the New York Observer: “They are trying to throw out these codes.” In the same piece, Democratic Rep. Yvette Clark divined segregationist intent in Palin’s references to Joe Six-Pack and hockey moms. “It leaves a lot of people out.” And Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid echoed Time’s Tumulty on the McCain camp’s Obama/Raines broadsides: “The only connection that people could bring up about Raines and Barack Obama is that they both are African-American, other than that there is nothing.”

POPSDetails This is just a pointer to a clarification of a remark I made in my blog post on Interrelated.blogspot.com. I was being my cynical, sarcastic self, but this purports to be the White House position. Maybe the White House is afraid that Chinese torture will prove to be more effective than US torture. The truth is, in the torture biz everybody borrows from everyone else.

POPSMcCain pushes $300 billion mortgage plan I def. think he is Fracking high on something. First, this "plan" would piss off a lot of people who bought houses they could afford and would then watch others who bought houses they could not afford (granted given bad advice/loans) and have taxpayers bail them out so they can stay in homes they really should not be in, in the first place. If there had been oversight in the govt and better regulation, none of these people would be in the situation they are in because it would have been a crime for these douche bag mortgage brokers and others to pitch them and give them the loans. So now this guy wants to take another $300 billion on top of the almost trillion the tax payers have already put into this mess. What a fracking idiot.

POPSPerino: Jobless should just return to the workplace The Bush administration’s refusal to extend a helping hand to those punished by the economy it created is nothing new: Last month, the White House threatened to veto a second stimulus package over opposition to an expansion of food stamps benefits.

POPSPelosi says $150B economic stimulus plan needed Holy Cow!!! Is there no end to this giving away our tax dollars? They haven't even won the White House yet and they're giving more of our $$ away. Can someone just calm down a few days and think things through? These people are only making things worse. Talk about scare tactics!!!
