POPSWhisher - share your wifi, get wifi free Very interesting, I'll be signing up and giving access to our home AP. I didn't want to open it up to anyone, making our traffic sniffable, but I don't mind sharing access as long as my packets are encrypted.

POPSWiFi Turns Internet Into Hideout For Criminals These days, the Internet is as indispensable to an officer's arsenal as his gun and handcuffs. Indeed, a growing number of officers are being assigned to patrol cyberspace..."Technology just makes the park no longer the only place where the pervert goes," West said. The problem is going to get worse, authorities said. Every day, more homes, businesses and entire jurisdictions are outfitted with wireless networks, creating an almost seamless patchwork of available Internet connections to anyone with a laptop and the desire to get online.

POPSWi-Fi: Children at risk from 'electronic smog' I has this debate with the rest of the IT team at my company last year (I am an IT consultant). Companies see the cost savings of not using physical wired network - no wire cost, and no eletrician cost to put in the cabling - and really don't want to know anything about the health effects of RF radiation. Humans are electrical beings because cells are electrical, and the nervous system is too. It seems obvious that EMR would have potentially negative effects on humans, and jumping on to Wi-Fi without examining any ill-effects is stupid IMO. There is massive money backing the Mobile and Wi-Fi industry, because it is a huge money earner, so I wouldn't expect anything to be done any time soon.
