POPSThe People Speak.org Youth Leadership Summit STUDENT Testimonials What I like was the opportunity I had to talk and share with students from all over the world, I learnt a lot of new thing on how to help the planet and the environment and I learnt that the youth can make significant changes...I would recommend this experience to anyone. - Sebastian Reyes - Colegio Los Álamos I would like to extend my thanks to the United Nations Foundation for hosting the Youth Leadership Summit and granting me a scholarship opportunity...Between the speeches given by people in influential positions and the hands-on activities, I believe we all have been granted a great gift and experience. - Alex Tolksdorf, Brother Rice I really enjoyed being part of the Youth Leadership Summit; maybe what I liked the most was the kindness of the people and over all the reason why this event was taken done. Global warming is a reality that sooner or later will affect everyone’s lives. - Edwin Yong, Colegio Los

• The Amish are relocated en masse to unelectrified penal colonies in Alaska because they refuse to pledge allegiance to anyone but God; they fail to accept that Obama is God. Unlike other deportations, this one saves the People's State money because the Amish are pacifists. Their formerly productive farmland is redistributed to ACORN staff and people George Soros likes (until he quits liking them; people do not think about what happens after that). Results similar to those in Zimbabwe fail to be reported in the state media. • The Amish are joined by those Rastas too stoned to fight back, although some Rastas merely remain under state suspicion after conceding that, as per Bob Marley, "the Almighty God is a living man" refers not to Haile Selassie but Barry Obama. • The Red Cross becomes the Red Circle (aka the Red 'O') and blood donations become mandatory. Those without recent donations are denied bread rations. . Mandated "volunteer" camps teach youth educational value of

POPSObama’s CHANGE.GOV Site Has, uh, Changed Quite A Bit $4,000 in value for 100 hours is $40 an hour, tax-free. For most students, because they pay no federal income tax, this will amount to an annual handout of $4,000 less the value of the service they provide (bravely assuming that it’s productive), which would be at most the private-sector equivalent of about $12 an hour with benefits, or $1,200. Space doesn’t permit me to go into all of the mind-boggling distortions this would lead to, but here’s a start (some information was obtained from the tables listed at this page at collegeboard.com): How do you manage a program with the equivalent of almost 4 million 400,000 full-time employees efficiently and effectively? Wal-Mart, which is I believe the nation’s largest employer, has 2.1 million employees. (Ironic/never happen suggestion of the day: Maybe Uncle Sam should outsource program administration to Wal-mart. At least they might keep it under control).

POPSWomen not fooled by Palin ploy There was certainly speculation that Obama needed to choose a woman - or one women in particular, Hillary Clinton. But the get-out-the-vote effort among those under 30 and women was so well honed that almost all of even the most disgruntled Clinton supporters were swayed by election day. It was the youth vote from the outset that marked this election as different. Every four years we hear of a politician who is firing up college students and first-time voters. But no one has been this successful. No one has reached out person-to-person as effectively. Even in solidly Republican states like South Carolina, Obama took the youth vote. Some of this is because Obama conducted a ridiculously youth-friendly campaign, using web-based social networking and text-messaging get out the vote.

POPS Greater Islamosphere “Therefore, I hope that McCain comes to power, so that the motivation for jihad remains in our hearts, and so that we do not rely on the infidels - to be struck by the fire .” Sorry, not my fault. I wish you could rely on the infidels, too. OK, here’s some racist Iranian rag. In an editorial, the Iranian daily Jomhouri-ye Eslami stated: “The most that that black man can do in the White House is to replace some of the staff and change some ceremonial procedures. He will never manage to change the structure of the American regime, which was established by capitalists, Zionists, and racists.” in London. al-Hayat: “The U.S. elections afford a kind of change that does not occur in the Arab ‘democracies’… The faces change in a way that we find impressive. Quick. Which recent U.S. president brought more democracy to more Muslims?

POPSThe Ghoul's Glossary: the 2008 Election Withdrawal: A way to avoid the worst consequences of a moment of pleasurable conquest, which, however, often comes too late to avoid years of support payments. Youth vote: The expectation that 21-year-olds will save the nation from the folly of their elders, in preference to gulping shots from the navels of hot barmaids during a Tuesday happy hour. Zionism: The theory that because Nazis hated Jews, the latter would be much better off all gathered together on disputed land in the midst of 300 million Arabs and Iranians.

POPSOur choices go to the core of who we are - Accounting for Taste "We consume books, movies, music, and visual art primarily to fulfill the internal emotional needs that are fundamental to our personalities. But we also make choices about art based on a desire to carve out identities for ourselves—to articulate the stories of our lives. By the same token, we look for those stories in others"

POPSRussians with pumpkins protest many U.S. plots Conspiracy theorist run amok. Claiming the U.S. is responsible for WW1 and WW2 so that the American economy could overtake Europe's economy. Farfetched? Likely. Carried out Sept 11 attacks to broaden government powers and planned to brand every person on the planet with the "mark of the beast," as referenced in the Bible. Farfetched? Probably, but not out of the realm of possibility. I agree the U.S. is over-zealous in pushing its idea of democracy onto everyone else. And the cowboy-like demeanor of the Bush/Cheney neocons point to visions of world dominance, but they don't speak for all of us. What we need to take away from this report is that American arrogance needs to be curtailed. We don't want to live an "us vs them" existence. Hopefully the new incoming administration can repair the damage that foreign relations have suffered these past several years.

POPSTeen shot over vandalized McCain sign The teens admitted that they had defaced the McCain sign several times, Warren Township police Lt. Don Bishop told CNN. Rowles' is the only McCain sign on a street full of Obama signs, he said. Bishop said the teenagers probably will not be charged -- and are unlikely to damage campaign signs again, as the incident scared them. Warren Township is in Trumbull County not far from Cleveland, Ohio.

POPSVERY IMPORTANT: The Battle Over CA Prop 5: Special Interests Overwhelming the Public Interest
Here is picture that sums up much that is wrong with American politics. Five governors of California, Democrats and Republicans, joining forces to oppose something that is indisputably in the public interest. This is an image that could be repeated, with different faces, in region after region of our country, involving issue after issue. Public officials standing against the public good, with the disastrous results on display from Detroit to Wall Street. All suffering from the same destructive force: the power of entrenched special interests to cloud the vision of our leaders, causing them to thwart good sense, good legislation, and the will of the people. In today's version, we have Jerry Brown, Pete Wilson, Gray Davis, George Deukmejian, and Arnold Schwarzenegger coming together to oppose Prop 5, a common sense ballot initiative that seeks to effectively and intelligently tackle the chronic problems facing California's deeply flawed criminal justice system. California's pris

POPS100 Students Rally Against Gun Ranges in City Schools! Interesting article at source. "Tuesday evening as I watched over a hundred high school students, mostly youth of color, from Lincoln High School and Mission Bay High School confront the aged, degenerate, industrial-military complex owned San Diego School Board. They were there to protest the ludicrous notion of gun ranges in their schools. These courageous young people, standing against the militaristic fads of our times, want no part of 20th Century violence. They belong to the 21st Century and have no interest in pre-emptive wars, wars against terror, perpetual war or acts of violence against anyone. Their's is a generation that sees "
