Zogby Pre-election Final: Obama 54, McCain 43
blueridge
by blueridge  11-4-2008    3
Nov 4 poll. Zogby is usually most accurate, we will see. Note that McCain has only 75 percent of conservative vote (even with Palin) , many bailed out on him. Republicans should make a careful note of this. As I clipped previously, McCain lost considerable "conservatives" and "moderates" from his party , and then gets romped by "independents" going to Obama (if this poll holds true). Moral: "If you stand for nothing you lose everything". I also believe the "fear tactics" backfired (while several issues are legitimate, including blatant communistic policies of Obama)--largely because of the LIES OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION casting its shadow over Republicans, which cause Fear tactics to be outright rejected now, without consideration. I received two robo-calls for McCain, one from Robert Duvall and another from a male country performer (Merle Haggard?). Desperate "get out the vote" moves, which people likely hang up on.

It's Over: Obama 49, McCain 43 in Zogby Tracking
blueridge
by blueridge  10-14-2008    8
Zogby is usually right on the mark. Independent voters make the difference if this extrapolation holds true. Meanwhile, the Constitution Party candidate is calling traditional conservatives and friends of limited, constitutional government (which Bush has trampled) to "not waste a vote on McCain", since he will lose: Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton. I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? I like this quote, if only everyone would do this: As John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone..."

See? If Obama keeps moving towards being like a moderate Repub, he's gonna blow a "no-Brainer" election...typical Democrat not being bold enough to stand up for what he really believes and it's showing...mark my words--if he doesn't change his tune (it may be too late now), he's gonna hand the country to an old, senile fucking war monger...What a country, what a circus!

Call Congress Back to Vote on Drilling
jatfla
by jatfla  7-25-2008    4
August recess?? Forget it! They've stuffed the business of the people for months and are stonewalling even now. Put it up for a vote....or shut up. This has nothing to do with drilling for oil; it has to do with the continuation of the obstructing of this Bush Administration. If it were a Democrat in the Presidency, progress would have already be made.

With rising gas costs, Americans in a variety of polls have shown by a majority they now want to explore offshore drilling, so this move will be popular among that majority and John McCain has been pushing for it as well. Reported on June 26, 2008, the InsiderAdvantage/Poll, asks "Do you favor or oppose increased exploration and production of oil and natural gas off the coasts of Florida?” Favor (61%) Oppose (32%) No opinion (7%) Rasmussen- June 17, 2008: "67% Support Offshore Drilling, 64% Expect it Will Lower Prices." Zogby- June 26, 2008: "74 percent support offshore oil drilling in U.S."

Nation Agrees Not To Talk About Politics
papananook
by papananook  4-18-2008    2
A Zogby International poll conducted last week reflected the country's distaste for political debate. When asked if they preferred the Republican emphasis on national security or the more Democratic commitment to domestic issues, 73 percent of respondents agreed to disagree on the matter and just leave it at that; 16 percent called the topic of Obama versus Clinton "touchy" and not worth talking about if it could offend someone; and 11 percent said that for the sake of everyone having a good, hassle-free year, it is probably best to just let it go and not worry about who the 44th president will be. In addition, nine out of 10 Americans polled stressed that with the dollar's poor performance and record-high gas prices, this is neither the time nor the place to be talking about politics in the first place.

Imagine yourself sitting at a conference table and you offer something as a suggestion and someone looks at you and shakes their head every time,” said Joel H. Neuman, director of the center for applied management at the SUNY-New Paltz School of Business. “It can be damaging to be constantly dismissed in front of your peers,” Dr. Neuman said. “The thing that is upsetting about it is that people come to expect it and say, ‘Well, this is what it’s like around here.’ It shouldn’t be part of the culture, but often it is.

Democrat Obama Leads all Republicans for President
BobbyRutan
by BobbyRutan  12-22-2007    1
More: Among Republicans, McCain performs the best among moderates in the general election match–ups, with Huckabee running a close second. Romney and Thompson run worst – in prospective contests against Obama, the Democrat leads Thompson 59% to 27%, and leads Romney by a 62% to 23% margin. Obama leads all five Republicans among moderates. Against Clinton, McCain and Huckabee lead among moderates, while the Democrat leads the other three Republicans. Giuliani and Fred Thompson Sliding in Iowa
blueridge
by blueridge  11-22-2007
Fred Thompson has completely failed to attract any consistent strong support. He was more popular before he officially came out to "run", which many have called a "stroll" for the presidency. Giuliani's record and ties with corrupt friends is causing others to step away. His anti-gun record is horrible, which in the end will cost him any chance of winning. Romney, Giuliani, and Thompson are ALL members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) which pushes a global socialist agenda and a North American Union, largely under the influence and founder David Rockefeller.

Fred Thompson Knocked Out in NH, Ron Paul Gaining
blueridge
by blueridge  11-20-2007
Ron Paul is ahead of Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee. Reading the fine print from Zogby shows the margin of error is up to 5 percent, which makes the entire status up in the air other than Romney. Ron Paul voters also are not represented by typical poll skewing toward land lines. It's early still, but trends are emerging. Romney will not maintain this high lead as advertising kicks in and more about him is known (i.e. CFR member, signed socialist mandatory health insurance bill in Mass). Fred Thompson might mosy out like he mosied in--last. (He did not show up for their debate, which was great offense to NH).
