POPSPoll: Bethlehem's Christians fear Israelis, not Muslims An interesting polling result from OpenBethlehem.org. They find that Americans have enormous misconceptions about Bethlehem's history, demographics, and even location; while Christian Bethlehemites, who are mostly Palestinians, see Israel as systematically destroying the town's Christian heritage (which, they say, has been protected by the Palestinian Authority).

POPSZogby Survey Uncovers American Bias, Hypocrisy Detailed results worth viewing at source. Pollster John Zogby said, “Over my years of polling, I’ve learned that Americans tend to offer socially acceptable responses when questioned on their own views about race and prejudice. That’s why in this poll we predominantly asked people about “most Americans’” views on race and prejudice. We believe this provides a far more accurate window into how people really think about these issues. Americans are more forthcoming when discussing the problem in the context of their neighbors’ lives than in the context of their own lives.”

POPSWork place bullying........... Imagine yourself sitting at a conference table and you offer something as a suggestion and someone looks at you and shakes their head every time,” said Joel H. Neuman, director of the center for applied management at the SUNY-New Paltz School of Business. “It can be damaging to be constantly dismissed in front of your peers,” Dr. Neuman said. “The thing that is upsetting about it is that people come to expect it and say, ‘Well, this is what it’s like around here.’ It shouldn’t be part of the culture, but often it is.

POPSDemocrat Obama Leads all Republicans for President More: Among Republicans, McCain performs the best among moderates in the general election match–ups, with Huckabee running a close second. Romney and Thompson run worst – in prospective contests against Obama, the Democrat leads Thompson 59% to 27%, and leads Romney by a 62% to 23% margin. Obama leads all five Republicans among moderates. Against Clinton, McCain and Huckabee lead among moderates, while the Democrat leads the other three Republicans. POPSCIA veterens challange 9/11 statement Read & make up your own mind. Why haven't authorities in the U.S. and abroad published the results of multiple investigations into trading that strongly suggested foreknowledge of specific details of the 9/11 attacks, resulting in tens of millions of dollars of traceable gains? Why has Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator who claims to have knowledge of advance warnings, been publicly silenced with a gag order requested by Attorney General Ashcroft and granted by a Bush-appointed judge? How could Flight 77, which reportedly hit the Pentagon, have flown back towards Washington D.C. for 40 minutes without being detected by the FAA's radar or the even superior radar possessed by the US military? How were the FBI and CIA able to release the names and photos of the alleged hijackers within hours, as well as to visit houses, restaurants, and flight schools they were known to frequent?

POPSIt's Over: Obama 49, McCain 43 in Zogby Tracking Zogby is usually right on the mark. Independent voters make the difference if this extrapolation holds true. Meanwhile, the Constitution Party candidate is calling traditional conservatives and friends of limited, constitutional government (which Bush has trampled) to "not waste a vote on McCain", since he will lose: Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton. I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? I like this quote, if only everyone would do this: As John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone..."

POPSEvangelicals Are Polling Democratic I'd like to think that they began to realize that rather than driving the bus, they were the cattle on-board on their way to the slaughter. Not sure that I do, however.

POPSNation Agrees Not To Talk About Politics A Zogby International poll conducted last week reflected the country's distaste for political debate. When asked if they preferred the Republican emphasis on national security or the more Democratic commitment to domestic issues, 73 percent of respondents agreed to disagree on the matter and just leave it at that; 16 percent called the topic of Obama versus Clinton "touchy" and not worth talking about if it could offend someone; and 11 percent said that for the sake of everyone having a good, hassle-free year, it is probably best to just let it go and not worry about who the 44th president will be. In addition, nine out of 10 Americans polled stressed that with the dollar's poor performance and record-high gas prices, this is neither the time nor the place to be talking about politics in the first place.

POPSGlobal warming: Americans more convinced now Nearly three of every four – 74% – are more convinced today that global warming is a reality than they were two years ago, the survey shows. Dramatically, it is a sentiment shared by a majority of Democrats, Republicans, and political independents. While many more Democrats believe in global warming (87%), 56% of Republicans concur. Among independents, 82% think we are experiencing the effects of global warming.

POPSCall Congress Back to Vote on Drilling August recess?? Forget it! They've stuffed the business of the people for months and are stonewalling even now. Put it up for a vote....or shut up. This has nothing to do with drilling for oil; it has to do with the continuation of the obstructing of this Bush Administration. If it were a Democrat in the Presidency, progress would have already be made.

POPSGiuliani and Fred Thompson Sliding in Iowa Fred Thompson has completely failed to attract any consistent strong support. He was more popular before he officially came out to "run", which many have called a "stroll" for the presidency. Giuliani's record and ties with corrupt friends is causing others to step away. His anti-gun record is horrible, which in the end will cost him any chance of winning. Romney, Giuliani, and Thompson are ALL members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) which pushes a global socialist agenda and a North American Union, largely under the influence and founder David Rockefeller.

POPSGreen Myths - Enviro "Facts" That Aren't more...... Result? According to the Forest Service, we have actually seen a net reforestation since 1985. We aren't losing forestland, we're gaining it. A majority believes our chief supplier of foreign oil is Saudi Arabia. In fact, it is our friendly neighbor to the north, Canada. All told the Persian Gulf supplies just 17 percent of the oil we import, and just 11 percent of all the oil we use.

POPSFred Thompson Knocked Out in NH, Ron Paul Gaining Ron Paul is ahead of Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee. Reading the fine print from Zogby shows the margin of error is up to 5 percent, which makes the entire status up in the air other than Romney. Ron Paul voters also are not represented by typical poll skewing toward land lines. It's early still, but trends are emerging. Romney will not maintain this high lead as advertising kicks in and more about him is known (i.e. CFR member, signed socialist mandatory health insurance bill in Mass). Fred Thompson might mosy out like he mosied in--last. (He did not show up for their debate, which was great offense to NH).

POPSWhat is wrong with you people? Another illegal war, because of a boogie man that may not exist. Think about this for just a minute, using this logic, we would have attacked the USSR... "Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons." Ron Paul
