POPSZogby Pre-election Final: Obama 54, McCain 43 Nov 4 poll. Zogby is usually most accurate, we will see. Note that McCain has only 75 percent of conservative vote (even with Palin) , many bailed out on him. Republicans should make a careful note of this. As I clipped previously, McCain lost considerable "conservatives" and "moderates" from his party , and then gets romped by "independents" going to Obama (if this poll holds true). Moral: "If you stand for nothing you lose everything". I also believe the "fear tactics" backfired (while several issues are legitimate, including blatant communistic policies of Obama)--largely because of the LIES OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION casting its shadow over Republicans, which cause Fear tactics to be outright rejected now, without consideration. I received two robo-calls for McCain, one from Robert Duvall and another from a male country performer (Merle Haggard?). Desperate "get out the vote" moves, which people likely hang up on.

POPSIt's Over: Obama 49, McCain 43 in Zogby Tracking Zogby is usually right on the mark. Independent voters make the difference if this extrapolation holds true. Meanwhile, the Constitution Party candidate is calling traditional conservatives and friends of limited, constitutional government (which Bush has trampled) to "not waste a vote on McCain", since he will lose: Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton. I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? I like this quote, if only everyone would do this: As John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone..."

POPSMcCain winning in new poll, follows trend See? If Obama keeps moving towards being like a moderate Repub, he's gonna blow a "no-Brainer" election...typical Democrat not being bold enough to stand up for what he really believes and it's showing...mark my words--if he doesn't change his tune (it may be too late now), he's gonna hand the country to an old, senile fucking war monger...What a country, what a circus!

POPSCall Congress Back to Vote on Drilling August recess?? Forget it! They've stuffed the business of the people for months and are stonewalling even now. Put it up for a vote....or shut up. This has nothing to do with drilling for oil; it has to do with the continuation of the obstructing of this Bush Administration. If it were a Democrat in the Presidency, progress would have already be made.

POPSThe Group Of Eights' Empty Rhetoric With rising gas costs, Americans in a variety of polls have shown by a majority they now want to explore offshore drilling, so this move will be popular among that majority and John McCain has been pushing for it as well. Reported on June 26, 2008, the InsiderAdvantage/Poll, asks "Do you favor or oppose increased exploration and production of oil and natural gas off the coasts of Florida?” Favor (61%) Oppose (32%) No opinion (7%) Rasmussen- June 17, 2008: "67% Support Offshore Drilling, 64% Expect it Will Lower Prices." Zogby- June 26, 2008: "74 percent support offshore oil drilling in U.S."

POPSSWAT raids lose public support I doubt that many would have agreed to them in the first place if they had the facts.Fear is a powerful motivator and police used it to sell these para military raids on often harmless drug users.

POPSNation Agrees Not To Talk About Politics A Zogby International poll conducted last week reflected the country's distaste for political debate. When asked if they preferred the Republican emphasis on national security or the more Democratic commitment to domestic issues, 73 percent of respondents agreed to disagree on the matter and just leave it at that; 16 percent called the topic of Obama versus Clinton "touchy" and not worth talking about if it could offend someone; and 11 percent said that for the sake of everyone having a good, hassle-free year, it is probably best to just let it go and not worry about who the 44th president will be. In addition, nine out of 10 Americans polled stressed that with the dollar's poor performance and record-high gas prices, this is neither the time nor the place to be talking about politics in the first place.

POPSWork place bullying........... Imagine yourself sitting at a conference table and you offer something as a suggestion and someone looks at you and shakes their head every time,” said Joel H. Neuman, director of the center for applied management at the SUNY-New Paltz School of Business. “It can be damaging to be constantly dismissed in front of your peers,” Dr. Neuman said. “The thing that is upsetting about it is that people come to expect it and say, ‘Well, this is what it’s like around here.’ It shouldn’t be part of the culture, but often it is.

POPSEvangelicals Are Polling Democratic I'd like to think that they began to realize that rather than driving the bus, they were the cattle on-board on their way to the slaughter. Not sure that I do, however.

POPSZogby on GOP Candidates, Ron Paul Will Exceed Expectations Giuliani is sinking. Fred is strolling, not running. Romney spending a ton of money in early states. The Huckster is fooling naive conservatives (hiding his record on increasing taxes more than Clinton in Arkansas). Zogby says Ron Paul will exceed expectations, beat some "front runners" in Iowa, do well in New Hampshire, while his message continues to grow, and his free market economic message comes at no better time when the country is beginning to succumb to the inevitable consequences of massive government spending under a republican administration.
