Uma coisa que esqueço de mencionar em alguns dos meus artigos sobre o YafaRay é que esse é um renderizador de código aberto, que pode ser usado de maneira gratuita com o Blender 3D. Portanto, você pode instalar a ferramenta em conjunto com o Blender 3D para usar nos seus projetos sem nenhuma restrição, inclusive podendo fazer uso comercial do material gerado com o YafaRay. Assim como acontece com vários renderizadores, é necessário fazer alguns testes para encontrar as melhores configurações para materiais e iluminação.
