Vibrating Alarm Clock (Image courtesy Lazybone)
By Andrew Liszewski

Oh look! Another clever alarm clock design. But this time instead of using a loud audible alarm (or the smell of freshly baked bread) this alarm clock simply vibrates you awake when it’s time to get up. While it might make for a more pleasant morning, it seems to require you to be a bit more diligent than a standard alarm clock does. For example, in order for it to be effective you have to remember to place the alarm under your pillow before you go to sleep. And so that there’s no power cord that could strangle you in the middle of the night the alarm’s also battery powered, so you’ll have to remember to keep it in its charging cradle during the day.

But what I like most about this particular alarm clock is that it isn’t just some concept dreamed up by an industrial designer fresh out of school, but is actually available from Lazybone for about $47.
