S'ha mort l'escriptor i periodista Francesc Candel

Avui a la matinada s'ha mort l'escriptor i periodista Francesc Candel. Nascut a Cases Altes (el Racó d'Ademús) el 1925, es va instal·lar amb la família a Barcelona quan era un infant. Ha estat una de les veus més reputades de la immigració de la segona meitat del segle XX a l'àrea metropolitana de Barcelona, amb desenes de llibres i articles a la premsa. La seva obra més famosa, 'Els altres catalans' (1964), és un estudi periodístic i sociològic sobre la immigració, de la qual se n'han fet una vintena d'edicions.

Entre els títols més reconeguts de la bibliografia de Candel hi ha 'Donde la ciudad cambia su nombre' (1957), 'Han matado a un hombre, han roto el paisaje' (1959), 'Encara més sobre els altres catalans' (1973) i 'Los que nunca opinan' (1971). L'any passat, Edicions 62 va editar el primer volum de les seves memòries, 'Primera història, primera memòria',
