Use your existing Windows Installation & Apps in Ubuntu

First you will need to boot into Windows natively to make some configurations.
Click Start > Control Panel > System On the Hardware tab, select Hardware Profiles Click Copy, and name the new hardware profile VMWare
Restart your computer and boot into Windows again, make sure to select the VMWare hardware profile.
Click Start > Control Panel > SystemsOn the Hardware tab, select Device ManagerSelect the IDE Controller object and edit its propertiesClick the Driver tab, then click the Update Driver buttonClick NextSelect Display a list of the known drivers, then click Next.Select Standard Dual channel PCI IDE controller instead of the driver that matches your physical IDE controller.Click Next, then click Next again.Click Finish, then Close.
