رسانه های آلمان توجه چندانی به خبر درگذشت اریک کیستنر نکردند
آخرین سرباز در قید حیات آلمانی که در جنگ جهانی اول شرکت کرده بود، در 107 سالگی درگذشته است.

اریک کیستنر، که در 18 سالگی به جبهه غرب، اعزام شده ولی تنها 4ماه در ارتش خدمت کرده بود، در یک خانه سالمندان در شهر کلن، درگذشت.

مرگ اریک کیستنر در تاریخ اول ژانویه اتفاق افتاد ولی از آنجا که آلمان کشوری است که اطلاعات وسوابق سربازان خود را نگاهداری نمی کند، به مرگ اریک کیستنر عمدتا توجهی نشد در حالی که یکشنبه گذشته، مرگ لوئی دو کازناو، دومین سرباز در قید حیات فرانسوی که در جنگ جهانی اول شرکت کرده بود، به صورت یک خبر جهانی درآمد.
