KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP)president S. Nallakaruppan today said efforts by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to win Indian votes would be futile.
He said he was aware of PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's attempt to get the sympathy of Indian voters due to the dwindling support from the Malays for the party.
"Anwar is now turning to the Indians for votes, likening himself to a hero in the Tamil movie "Sivaji The Boss" as the saviour of the society, but he cannot cheat the Indians who are now wiser," he told Bernama.
He said Anwar was more concerned with pursuing his own personal interests. Nallakaruppan, who is assisting the Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery in the coming general election, was confident the people would continue to support the BN.
