Kilang Kelar, Angola Hentikan Impor Minyak

LUANDA, KOMPAS.com — Perusahaan minyak milik Pemerintah Angola merencanakan menghentikan mengimpor minyak mentah sulingan dalam dua tahun ke depan pada saat kilang-kilang barunya mulai beroperasi, media setempat melaporkan, Selasa (15/4).
    
Rencananya akan dibangun sebuah kilang kedua di kota pantai Lobito, tempat pekerjaan saat ini hampir final. Menurut harian Jornal de Angola, Sonangol berniat menghentikan impor bensin dan solar dalam dua tahun ke depan.

Meskipun bersaing dengan Nigeria menjadi produsen minyak terbesar Afrika, Angola secara ironis telah mengimpor 60 persen dari kebutuhan bensinnya karena kilang yang ada belum dapat mencukupi permintaan nasional.
Diperkirakan, kilang baru berbiaya delapan miliar dollar AS (enam miliar euro), dua kali estimasi resmi, tersebut akan dihubungkan dengan jalan-jalan baru dan fasilitas offloading untuk membantu mempercepat distribusi ke seluruh negara itu.
