“Yavelow Study Confirms Ayers Hand In Obama’s ‘Dreams"
merrie
by merrie  11-3-2008    1
Another example is what Yavelow calls “attributions”—e.g., he “asked,” she “said,” they “wondered.” Some authors use as few as three. Many use fewer than twenty. Dreams, however, uses 36; Fugitive Days 34, and with only four exceptions—three of these used only once—the two books use the very same attributions. Yavelow compares the two books on any number of other characteristics and concludes, “There is a strong likelihood that the author of Fugitive Days ghost-wrote Dreams From My Father using recordings of dialog (either tape recorded or notes). Alternatively, another scenario could be possible: Ayers might have served as a ‘book doctor’.”

Sponsor An Obama Today

For just 80 cents a day you can provide them with the basic needs, food, shelter, medical care. Please share. Barack Obama has lived one version of the American Dream that has taken him to the steps of the White House. But a few miles from where the Democratic presidential candidate studied at Harvard, his Kenyan aunt and uncle, immigrants living in modest circumstances in Boston, have a contrasting American story. Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr Obama's best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, lives in a disabled-access flat on a rundown public housing estate in South Boston. A second relative believed to be the long-lost "Uncle Omar" described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a "sawed-off rifle" while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

The Hypocrisy Of The Messiah: Slum-Dwelling Family Members
merrie
by merrie  10-29-2008    1
The US press has repeatedly rehearsed Mr Obama’s extraordinary odyssey, but the other side of the family’s American experience has only been revealed in parts. Just across town from where Mr Obama made history as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, some of his closest blood relatives have confronted the harshness of immigrant life in America. A second relative believed to be the long-lost “Uncle Omar” described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a “sawed-off rifle” while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

A Bloodthirsty And Unapologetic Terrorist

Who Wrote Dreams From My Father? By Jack Cashill Prior to 1990, when Barack Obama contracted to write Dreams From My Father, he had written very close to nothing. Then, five years later, this untested 33 year-old produced what Time Magazine has called -- with a straight face -- "the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician." Tracing Obama's literary ascent is complicated by what Politico.com calls a "scant paper trail." That trail begins at Occidental College whose literary magazine published two of Obama's poems -- "Pop" and "Underground" -- in 1981. Obama calls it some "very bad poetry." . As the New York Times gushed, Obama was "that rare politician who can write . . . and write movingly and genuinely about himself." These accolades matter all the more because Obama has built his political persona around his presumably superior intellect, Dreams being exhibit A. http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/who_wrote_dreams_from_my_fathe_1.html

. . . . 'Some guy in my neighborhood'
merrie
by merrie  10-15-2008
As a reminder, Obama explicitly claims that he did not employ a ghost writer or a co-author in the composition of his memoir. The revelation that Ayers either helped write or simply wrote Dreams would not only expose Obama in a bald-faced, intellect-deflating lie; it would further refute his increasingly laughable assertion that the unrepentant terrorist is simply a "guy from the neighborhood." 'Some guy in my neighborhood' http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77938 Obama didn't write 'Dreams from My Father' http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77815 Nautical metaphors could sink Obama http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77940 Did Obama Write "Dreams from My Father" ... Have You Ever Wondered, Or Is It Just Me.....?
merrie
by merrie  10-12-2008    11
I hope that you can be sufficiently open-minded as to read this. The following article is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because it provides an explanation for the above, as well as why Obama has been deceptive about his 10+ years' association with unrepentant American terrorist William Ayers. Please take a couple of minutes to read the article. Lastly, the reason I find credible the point made by the author, Jack Cashill, that Obama did not write his two celebrated memoirs (which were most probably ghostwritten by Ayers), is because I am a published writer. I know how hard writing is. I also know that writing is a craft that must be honed: one does not SUDDENLY overnight become a good writer, especially if one has never written before. Obama’s Poems Show Real Talent

.....example of the genre.” Of note, Politico observes that “the temperate legal language doesn't display the rhetorical heights that run through his memoir, published a few years later.” But then somehow, those few years later, this 33 year-old amateur with no paper trail beyond a hack legal note and a poem about fig-stomping apes produced what Time Magazine has called--with a straight face-- “the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician.” The public is asked to believe that Obama did this on his own, almost as though he were some sort of literary idiot savant. I don’t buy this canard for a minute. To enhance the science of this literary investigation, I made some inquiries into the academy. . .he encouraged me instead “to do what you're already doing . . . good old-fashioned literary detective work.” Given that advice, I dug deeper into the memoir of the man who, I believe, tortured Dreams From My Father . . .

Springsteen Obama Endorsement - so nice I had to clip it twice!
zizzy
by zizzy  4-16-2008
At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships. While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision, so well described in his excellent book, Dreams From My Father, often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment. After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project and to lead us into the 21st Century with a renewed sense of moral purpose and of ourselves as Americans. Over here on E Street, we're proud to support Obama for President.

The Audacity Of Rhetoric
merrie
by merrie  3-26-2008    2
The irony is that Obama's sudden rise politically to the level of being the leading contender for his party's presidential nomination has required him to project an entirely different persona, that of a post-racial leader who can heal divisiveness and bring us all together. The ease with which he has accomplished this chameleon-like change, and entranced both white and black Democrats, is a tribute to the man's talent and a warning about his reliability. There is no evidence that Obama ever sought to educate himself on the views of people on the other end of the political spectrum, much less reach out to them. He reached out from the left to the far left. That's bringing us all together? Is "divisiveness" defined as disagreeing with the agenda of the left? Who on the left was ever called divisive by Obama before that became politically necessary in order to respond to revelations about Jeremiah Wright?

Barack Obama Displayed His Bizarre Views On Foreign And Domestic Policy
merrie
by merrie  2-28-2008    5
First, Obama showed ignorance of what led to the crisis in Kosovo, where a U.S.-Russian confrontation is now playing out, and he seemed to advocate some kind of U.S. military response through NATO. If a President Obama carried through on such a threat, it would be a foreign policy mistake of monumental proportions. It could lead to a war with Russia in the current circumstances. Second, Obama didn't seem to understand that in the case of the disabled woman, Terri Schiavo, the issue was giving her the same kind of due process rights that are guaranteed to death row killers. We now know where Obama really stands, and it is not a pretty picture. Tim Russert had some good questions: One was when he asked Obama what he would do if Russia helped Serbia militarily take control of Kosovo, which is under United Nations and NATO occupation and recently declared its independence.

Obama’s Communist Mentor AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 18, 2008

Is it possible that Obama did not know who Davis was when he wrote his book, Dreams From My Father, first published in 1995? The communists knew who "Frank" was, and they know who Obama is. One academic who travels in communist circles understands the significance of the Davis-Obama relationship. Professor Gerald Horne, a contributing editor of the Communist Party journal Political Affairs, talked about it during a speech last March at the reception of the Communist Party USA archives at the Tamiment Library at New York University. The remarks are posted online under the headline, "Rethinking the History and Future of the Communist Party." Takara says that Davis "espoused freedom, radicalism, solidarity, labor unions, due process, peace, affirmative action, civil rights, Negro History week, and true Democracy to fight imperialism, colonialism, and white supremacy. He urged coalition politics." Challenge the liberal media to report on this. Will they have the honesty to do so
