Greed. To have $60000 to spend on something like this. It would make my life much easier. I could even crack an AC/DC concert with that much.

"Yuvvraaj is a story of a family in Europ where a father creats a huge wealth for his three sons but ends up his life observing that they have lost family values and declare themselves as partner than brothers and play dangerous mind games with each other in need and greed of money. Gulzar has written the songs of the film “Yuvraaj” and A.R. Rahman is the music composer of the album. As expected the duo excels in making melodious songs of different type and “Yuvraaj” too has a high drama and intense set of songs that will match the script of the film. But what about the working poor and the young people who are being clobbered in this downturn, battered so badly that they’re all but destitute? Can we find any way to help them?"

An Indian Hymn to Obama
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  11-6-2008    6
America needs more money. Much of the infrastructure is second rate or crumbling. The education system calls for renovation. Almost half the population has no health cover. A completely new social security system needs to be put together . The disparities have reached unacceptable level...The US economy, in other words, has hit a wall. A deadend has come. A complete change of course is necessary. The question is to provide the country a more sustainable future. Obama's challenge is on the one hand to shepherd his countrymen through the present downturn. At the same time, he needs to explain to them that physical resources are finite. He must underscore that America needs to get to save again both at the national and family level. He is striding a political minefield. He will have to sound convincing when he says he does not hold a magic wand to wave the situation away.

This Election Was Personal - And Angry
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  11-6-2008    4
The elections were only the first step. A promise of change. Now, we wait... Obama was elected and that gives great hope, but the problems still remain. Unjust greed-driven wars, torture, economic turmoil etc. There is still a lot of anger out there, so please don't blow it, America. Don't let the world wait in vain for common sense and peace to prevail. Keep the pressure on for change. The world is sick and tired of war. Aren't you?

American Election: An Illusion of Democracy
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  11-4-2008    4
A natural resources monopoly system was, thus, created in the US, and many parts of the world, based solely on capital gain and profit rather than the well being of human life. This power elite has gained total control over the American government and its departments, and dictates its laws and its foreign policies. In such a game the peoples’ choices are easily misled. The worst form of slavery is the one where slaves believe they are free. After the elections, there's still going to be massive problems to deal with. The "War on Terror", the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Guantanamo, surveillance, torture, climate change, Palestine etc. Who ever wins, don't forget both candidates are slaves to the system. It's really only the people, who in the end, can change things. Demand change, no matter who ends up in that big ol' White House. Don't forget.

Columbia military killing civilians
spirithiker
by spirithiker  10-30-2008
Soldiers are kidnapping civilians, posing them as insurgents and killing them to pad their 'kill rate' so they can get promotions, time off, and extra pay. The depth of human depravity knows no bounds. The unseen tragedy of random killings is that the victim might have one day aspired to be a great leader or been instrumental in solving some medical mystery that could have benefited all of mankind. As the result of the selfishness and greed of a handful of murderous and theiving people, the rest of the world loses so much more. "If the responsibility of the army is to protect us from harm, how could they have killed my son this way?" Blanca Monroy, 49, Oviedo's mother, asked in an interview in her cinderblock home here. "The official explanation is absurd, if he was here just a day earlier living a normal life," she said. "The irony of it all is that my son dreamed of being a soldier" for the government.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Greed of 'The ONE'~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ And, according to an e-mail plea to supporters, tonight’s the absolute deadline to donate $10 more and receive your special edition Official Obama-Biden car magnet. Having now collected more than $605 million altogether, the freshman senator shows no concern over the appearance of buying the presidency. Imagine for a moment the national political conversation that could be going on now if rich Republicans had raked in that much loot for one campaign. With $605 million already, Obama asks only $10 more from each of us Top of the Ticket ~ Los Angeles Times What with the big media in his pocket, his puppet masters should really love him… http://flightpundit.com/archives/2008/10/23/greed-of-the-one/

And the worst taste in a campaign mailer award goes to...
gingembre
by gingembre  10-29-2008    1
Here's the rest of the story: Local party officials immediately climbed out of the muck to repudiate the piece and apologize, right? Not exactly. In a news release, the party disavowed the Hitler comparison but acknowledged that it had sent the piece out, in its entirety, because it was interesting and "might incite conversation." However, the release went on, "This sort of inflammatory language is neither condoned nor encouraged by our party." Except, that is, when this sort of inflammatory language is, in fact, condoned, encouraged and even distributed by the party. And they're calling him dishonest.
