POPSWar Hero or War Criminal?
This article is written by Robert Richter, who was the CBS political director during the 1960's. He writes compellingly about a controversial issue that is rarely spoken about. Whether or not fighter bombers in the Viet Nam war should be charged as war criminals, due to their flagrant disregard of the Geneva Conventions that prohibit bombing of civilian areas. As it turns out, a documentary on the subject was done by a general back in the day, and CBS refused to show it, because they felt it was too hot. Now that Mr. McCain is running for president, he is holding up his position as a bombing pilot as heroic duty for which he should be honoured. But the facts have shown, that he and his colleagues, have killed many millions of Vietnamese civilians by their incessant bombing of civilian enclaves. If the tables were turned, and Vietnamese pilots were bombing civilian enclaves in the United States, when they were captured, as McCain was, they would have been tried as war criminals.

POPSRolling Thunder Honors America's Military And Veterans The riders themselves have some airborne help from a different breed of choppers this year. For the first time, "Flying Thunder" has joined the effort. In mid-May, a quartet of 40-year-old UH-1 "Huey" helicopters took off from Palm Springs, Calif., and escorted several groups of riders as they journeyed towards Washington. The four aircraft landed yesterday in Lynchburg, Va., and will do a flyby this afternoon.... Anyone living here in the D.C. area can't miss the significance of Memorial Day. These bikers see to it that we remember. Remember those who have served and given their sacrifice to protect us here at home on this Memorial Day.

POPSRolling Thunder and why I love the Internet I have been trying to find the name of this movie for almost 20 years. All I could remember was the hand in the garbage disposal and the coins. Finally, the right search words led me to this. I started to believe I just made the movie up in my head, as my brother swears he never saw it. I surely wouldn't have watched this on my own; I know it was his idea. LOL! Does anyone remember watching this movie?

POPSVA will not help soldiers register to vote the "Rolling Thunder" veterans group in New Jersey, which has lead many pro-Republican demonstrations in Washington, regularly meets at VA facilities. Moreover, before the 2004 presidential election, California's Republican Party paid workers $15 for each new voter registered This is so warped. Where is the country in which I I thought I lived?

POPSVets to Gather March 17 to Protect the Wall - Vietnam Vets Momorial in Wash. DC It wasn’t the anti-war message that got their backs up so much as it was the location that activists picked to start a march to the Pentagon - the Vietnam Veterans Memorial - and what happened during an anti-war rally held Jan. 27. On that day, a small group of over-exuberant protesters spray-painted slogans on the Capitol steps. The veterans fear a repeat performance that could damage the memorial, something they say they will not allow. ======================================================= Regardless of what you think of the war in Iraq, or feel about Bush, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT on the other sacred memorials honoring past soldiers.

POPSA Battle Among Brothers: Palestinian Civil War "We're all brothers. I just never imagined that Usama would be killed at the hands of a fellow brother. For what? What had he done?" This is so sad. Remindes me of stories of our civil war. http://ngeorgia.com/poetry/brothers.html The sounds of rolling thunder fills the air of the nation, A cry of dispair comes from the founders of this creation A family against family, brother against brother; For a war has begun, a war like no other. ... T'is the time for the trumpet to sound the song of peace, T'is the time for anger and hatred to cease, T'is the time to remember the valiant did not die in vain, T'is the time for differences, to begin to wane. This is Wayne C. Bengston's "Brothers"
