Google Reaches Agreement with Authors, Publishers for Book Search
walski69
by walski69  11-7-2008
Sergey Bin went on to state: "While this agreement is a real win-win for all of us, the real victors are all the readers. The tremendous wealth of knowledge that lies within the books of the world will now be at their fingertips." I, for one, couldn't agree more.

My Beautiful Blue Indiana!
gingembre
by gingembre  11-5-2008    1
I am so pleased that the majority of voters in my home state of Indiana chose Obama over McCain! It has been an exciting election for us Hoosiers, who normally get little attention due to the assumption that Indiana is a dyed-in-the-wool red state. Well, not any more! Woo hoo! I was one of the Hoosiers who cast an absentee ballot this year. :)

Japanese man petitions to marry comic book wife
cakebelly
by cakebelly  10-30-2008
continues: Befitting his desire to be two-dimensional, he listed no contact details, making it impossible to reach him for comment to explain if his campaign is serious or tongue-in-cheek. But some people signing the petition are true believers. "For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love," one person wrote. "Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost," the person wrote. Japan only permits marriage between human men and women and gives no legal recognition to same-sex relationships. Japan's fans of comic books, or "manga," sometimes go to extremes. Earlier this month, a woman addicted to manga put out an online message seeking to kill her parents for asking her to throw away comic books that filled up three rooms.

Obama, Ayers & Maoist Hardliner Mike Klonsky's Chicago Office
merrie
by merrie  10-20-2008    5
More- Ayers mentions Obama in his book Great. Our next president may not just be the most liberal politician to ever serve but his only major achievement will be his years working in an office with a domestic terrorist and a radical Maoist on failed educational projects. "WorldNetDaily reported further that "while Obama chaired the board of the CAC," "... more than $600,000 was granted to an organization founded by Ayers and run by Mike Klonsky, a former top communist activist." Gee, there's that ugly "C" word that no one in the Media will mention - Communist. "Klonsky was leader of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party, which was effectively recognized by China as the all-but-official U.S. Maoist party." Obama funded this idiot- Obama. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=76022 TIMELINE OF BARACK OBAMA'S CAREER http://www.gwu.edu/~action/2008/cands08/obamatime.html The Left’s Big Blunder http://faustasblog.com/?p=7051

Because We Don't Need It...
monstersmom
by monstersmom  10-9-2008    1
We don’t need more debts. Palin spent 15 million on a new sports center in the valley, leaving the small town of Wasilla, Alaska in debt to the amount of 22 million. (That’s 22 million more than the debt she took on when taking on this lovely playtime as mayor.) We don’t need family feuds interfering with duties. I know you feel your ex-brother-in-law was a dick… but trying to get him fired...Sarah? We don’t need another vote against gay marriage. This is just standard every day equal rights being overlooked. Sarah Palin disagrees. We don’t need to overlook global warming. Science can now tell us "Yup. That is happening.” Not my words, that is science speak. Sarah Palin disagrees.

Comcast to cap online use
dmtherob
by dmtherob  8-31-2008
The cap will be set at 250gb. If you go over that, you get a courtesy call from Comcast as a first warning. The second time that you go over, your account will be immediately suspended for an entire calendar year. People that watch movies or video's online are going to be hit hard because you can go over your daily limit in minutes. And don't forget that companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft and others are offering online (cloud) storage. Some applications such as Google's http://docs.google.com/ are online and would be completely inaccessible to small business's or home offices. Plus there are X-box, Playstation, Nintendo and many other consumer boxes that require the internet to access online games, calenders, address books, and even clocks.

Scribd - online publishing
Fast T friend
by Fast T friend  8-20-2008
One of early problems Scribd encountered was that there was no good format for displaying its documents, as formats like PDF, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint were designed before the Internet existed. In response, Scribd created iPaper, the first document format built for the web. Like YouTube's player did for video formats, iPaper standardizes all document formats into one viewer that can be seamlessly integrated into webpages. Recognizing the value of this technology, Scribd released the Scribd Platform, which allows any website to use iPaper to display their documents.

I'LL BE JUST FINE, SAYS PLANET
papananook
by papananook  8-13-2008    3
"Look, I'm just a planet doing its thing, alright? If you want to live on me, that's your business, but I've got important planet stuff to do, okay? "Try being in elliptical orbit for five minutes, or balancing your gravitational pull with a medium-sized moon. Let me assure you, it's no fucking picnic." The planet said environmental campaigners should change their slogan from 'Save the Planet' to something more relevant such as 'Save Your Sorry Arse'. Earth added: "Okay, so there may come a time when, for a variety of reasons, I am no longer able to support pandas, polar bears, and humans, but you know what? Life goes on. UNFORTUNATELY, IF WE KILL THE OCEANS, THIS MAY NOT BE TRUE, SATIRE OR NOT.

Book Review: Zero to One Million by Ryan Allis
Sales Training
by Sales Training  7-19-2008
ince this book is a break from the sales books so far, I will change my book review format and just get down right personal. Ryan P. Allis in “Zero To One Million, How I Built A Company To $1 Million In Sales… And How You Can Too”, has delivered a fantastic high level overview on how to start up a company. Please look past the AWFUL TITLE, for it is the only thing that is less than fantastic about this book
