POPSGOP Fights For Expedited Delivery Of Ballots To Military In 2000 military ballots were targeted for challenge in the famous Florida recount , and only 48% of the overseas members of the military who requested absentee ballots for the 2006 election had their ballots counted, according to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. Conservatives believe that members of Congress should fight as hard for the right of our military to vote as our military has fought to allow Iraq to have a constitutional democracy. Sens. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas), along with Reps. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are engaging in legislative combat for the rights of our military to vote in the 2008 election.

POPSDon't forget to vote on June 3. No on Prop. 98 You know, people really have no excuse to not vote. There are absentee ballots. I love absentee ballots. Sometimes you cannot get out of working or you are just lazy and they send it to you home. Yeah, imagine that! Anyway, I'm tired. It's May. The school year is winding down. But seriously, don't forget you Californians out there! If you are a renter, you need to read about these propositions.

POPS "Voting Correctly For Kremlin" Coercion
Some complaints came from hospital patients, who said they had been threatened with early discharge if they did not produce absentee ballots Hundreds of people have called an election hot line to complain about the use of absentee ballots, the Central Elections Commission said in a summary of the complaints posted on its Web site Non-governmental organizations and opposition political parties also have reported receiving many complaints. "It is unbelievable. The use of bureaucracy is on an unprecedented scale," said Marina Dashenkova of Golos, an election-monitoring group. "People are complaining that their bosses are forcing them to take absentee ballots and vote for whom they say." The use of absentee ballots in this way is new and kills two birds with one stone for the Kremlin: By getting absentee ballots, people are registered as voting even if the votes are never cast, boosting turnout; and when they vote under the supervision of bosses they are likely to vote "correctly."

POPSDemocrats Control of Senate likely hinges on Webb I am surprised to hear that Webb took Prince William. That's my former stomping grounds, and pretty much at the door-step of Wash, DC. It makes me happy knowing that the Dems have been making a swing there. It sure tells us a lot about how they feel for Allen and his party.
