GOP Sen. Ted Stevens Loses
Wisco
by Wisco  Yesterday 9:43 PM    4
Now they won't have to kick him out. Bonus, Sarah Palin's hopes that she gets to appoint Steven's successor goes down a series of tubes. Still, what does this say about the average Alaskan? Stevens is a convicted felon. It shouldn't even have been close. Republicans are so freakin' crazy up there that they'd rather re-elected a prison-bound criminal than a Democrat. Now those are partisan blinders.

I am so pleased that the majority of voters in my home state of Indiana chose Obama over McCain! It has been an exciting election for us Hoosiers, who normally get little attention due to the assumption that Indiana is a dyed-in-the-wool red state. Well, not any more! Woo hoo! I was one of the Hoosiers who cast an absentee ballot this year. :)

Obama Wins: Bangkok Post - Bangkok, Thailand
zizzy
by zizzy  11-5-2008
A full 62 per cent of voters ranked the economy as the key issue of this election, compared to 10 per cent invoking the war in Iraq and 9 per cent rating terrorism or health care highest. Millions already voted in recent weeks in early or absentee voting allowed in 31 states, including key battlegrounds Florida, North Carolina, Colorado and Nevada. Voters waited patiently in serpentine queues early Tuesday to cast ballots. Many had started lining up before dawn, and some braved pouring rain to cast their ballots. It was a bittersweet end to the 21-month campaign for Obama, whose grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, 86, passed away overnight Sunday after a battle with cancer, the Illinois senator revealed Monday.

Smarter people more likely to vote
Kelika
by Kelika  10-24-2008    2
"Childhood intelligence is associated with how and how much people engage in the democratic processes, and with support for political ideologies that are based on ecological sustainability and social liberalism," conclude the Intelligence study authors. For example, voters were 32% more likely to vote for the UK's more left-wing Liberal party over the Conservative party for every 15 IQ points they scored above average as children. They were more likely to be tree-huggers too, voting more often for environment-oriented parties. "Although these data apply to one country's political system, there are broad similarities in political parties across Western democracies, and so these data might have wider relevance beyond the UK," say the authors.

Massive USA Early Voting - Some Screw Ups.

Besides predictions of the highest percentage of voters in the whole history of the USA, this fact is also mentioned in this artticle: - FACT: "Fifty-six percent, of those voting early in North Carolina were Democrats, while 28 percent were Republicans." Twice as many Democrats are showing up for early voting! Bad news for McCain. About the screw up > It's pathetic. One poll say less that half of Americans are confident their vote will be counted correctly! Some citizens are being told they're not citizens! More about voting screw ups, at: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jYqo0FAsS35YJJIhXeXcXN0mKl3AD9412HTG0 In Georgia, 200 absentee ballots from military members could go uncounted because the Army gave out a voting form that did not meet Georgia requirements! Dirty trick Republicans are calling black neighborhoods and telling them they can vote by phone and stay home. (It's a lie). But, either way, no stopping now: we're marching to the polls, come hell or h

USA Elections: Voting Started - Democrats Coming On Strong.,,,even in Georgia!
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-22-2008    2
This is a good clip for current info on the "battleground states." Which way these states vote will be critical to who wins: Ohio,Pennsylvania, Virgina and Florida. All states count, of course but the four states above are the big ones that swing back and forth and could go either way and thus make the difference. But Virginia? North Carolina!? Georgia!? Wow! - In the USA Civil War, 150 years ago, it was a war between Northern States and Southern States (of that time). If looking at the USA Election Map for the last 150 years, it's been the very exact same dividing line....the same dividing line as in the USA Civil War: The Northern States (of that time) vote one way; the Southern States (of that time) vote another. For the Democrats to win in Virginia - capital of the South, would change all that...(and Obama now ahead). If they win North Carolina...incredible! shocking! If Obama wins Georgia..OMG! OMG! It would be a victory not just for now, but a 150 y

What real voter fraud looks like, eh GOP?
ratilfar

Those who were formerly Democrats may stop receiving phone calls and literature from that party, perhaps affecting its get-out-the-vote efforts. They also will be given only a Republican ballot in the next primary election if they do not switch their registration back before then. Some also report having their registration status changed to absentee without their permission; if they show up at the polls without a ballot they may be unable to vote.

Helps Raise Albuquerque's Fraudulent Vote Share To 30% Good thing the Supreme Court has just ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner doesn't need to reconcile the 200,000 mismatched registrations that she had been hiding. Obama paid $800,000 in good money for ACORN's Ohio services and even went to the trouble of concealing it from the FEC. It would be a slap in the face not to allow those tireless fraudulent registration efforts to blossom into fraudulent votes, especially now that New Mexico has shown beyond a doubt that it can work. A glorious day for community organizing! Handcrafted by Flip on October 17, 2008 Voter Registration Fraud DOES Lead to Voter Fraud http://townhall.com/blog/g/c931ad6e-9ff5-4bca-96be-2ac7ac700f4f

Out-Of-State Students Working With "Vote For Change"
merrie
by merrie  10-16-2008    2
An entire houseful of young, non-Ohioan Democrat activists have used the Brownlee Avenue address to register themselves to vote in the Buckeye State and secure absentee ballots under extremely shady circumstances — all while mobilizing a large effort to register thousands of others for absentee and early voting. The activists are leaders of a group called “Vote From Home ‘08.” The group is self-identified as having “extensive experience with political organizing, election administration, and Democratic politics.” They were hailed as the “Justice League” by a Daily Kos blogger. My friends at Palestra.net, a network of young reporters who have been doing the voter and registration fraud reporting that the MSM has been slow to do, have a breaking investigative report on how several members of the Democrat Vote From Home team — all Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and Truman Scholars studying abroad. http://www.palestra.net/

Federal Court: Ohio Must Check Voter Registrations
merrie
by merrie  10-14-2008    1
Ohio Republican Chairman Bob Bennett accused Brunner of pursuing a partisan agenda and said "her delay in providing this matching system leaves little time for election officials to act on questionable registrations." Bennett said Brunner was destroying the public's trust in Ohio's elections system. "Her shameful actions to disenfranchise Republican absentee voters, block the transparency of early voting and refuse the proper verification of newly registered voters have rightfully damaged her credibility as a nonpartisan election administrator," he said.

New Yorkers have a chance to vote for Barrack Osama. Having the State Elections Office spelling the names of the candidates correctly is a rather important thing. Three proof readers apparently missed this; we told. My Point is really about another claim of so-called Voter Fraud mentioned frequently on clipmarks: The dastardly ACORN conspiracy to steal the elections by submitting phony names on voter registration cards. Phony names, like: Barrack Osama. The best description of the ACORN accusations, I now realize, is that the Republicans were trying to "make a mountain out of a molehill." -- deliberately whining about this and every stupid thing under the sun, like Obama using the words: "lipstick on a pig," or the bad photo of Palin in Newsweek and Nothing of Substance. I've seen voter fraud. It was a whole voting booth found in the town dump one week after elections. This stuff? Mountains out of molehills to distract and rile up ignorant emotions. Barrack Osama?
