POPSLawsuit To Ensure Cheney Documents Remain Part Of Historic Record For years, Cheney has resisted revealing any aspect of the inner workings of his office; he has shielded information such as the names of industry executives who advised his energy task force, his travel costs and details, and Secret Service logs of visitors to his office and residence. Since 2003, his office has refused to comply with an executive order requiring entities in the executive branch to file annual reports on their possession of classified data, at one point blocking an inspection by officials from the National Archives.

POPSPrasugrel Delayed The Food and Drug Administration will take another three months to make a decision on Lilly's blood thinner. Given the lack of an advisory panel and the controversy surrounding the drug, this is not a huge surprise. Exactly what info the FDA needs going forward is not clear.

POPSTiny tubes, rocket fuel soup up motors Nanomotors. The rods that are part of the nanomachines, are coated, one end with platinum, the other with gold. The metals act as a catalyst and break up either hydrogen peroxide, or rocket fuel (hydrazine). While other nanomachines use the metals, it is the way they break up the rocket fuel that gives the kick. They draw water from the chemicals, and use it as a 'jet' . Of course they use much less rocket fuel than a launch.

POPSColliding Galaxies Make Love, Not War From 02:42 on, the video on stage6.divx.com provides an impression of the aesthetic magnificence of this bi-galactic interaction. The video gains special charm by Pink Floyd's music (Cluster One, Division Bell) which is added to it. Thanks to rj3sp whose clip Dance Of Two Interacting Galaxies reminded me of that video, which is one of my favorites.

POPSYour toxic home office http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/journals/esthag-w/2007/aug/figures/nl_printers.jpg Your laser printer could be making you gag, according to a new study. Queensland University of Technology (Australia) researchers found that laser printers spew as many particulates into the air as cigarette smokers. I am wondering if inkjet printers may cause similar problems... After testing more than 50 printers throughout the building, they found that particle emissions varied depending on the type and age of the printer. In one case, standing near a working printer was much like standing next to a cigarette smoker.

POPSPresidential Powers: They do exist, but progressives want to rewrite the constitution Unfortunately they think it's a living constitution, and so they're muddying the lines between the three branches of government. This is dangerous politics. But there is a progressive initiative at work to abolish the constitution. http://islandia.law.yale.edu/acs/conference/index.asp or at least, to re-write it...you don't have to wonder long what they want to put in its place.

POPSBeautiful! A picture of the Stellar Spire in the Eagle Nebula is taken by the ACS and released with a series of images celebrating the Hubble's 15th anniversary. This image is of such high resolution that it could be blown up to billboard size and still offer exceptional detail. Credit: NASA, ESA, and The Hubble Heritage Team
