Annan, Carter and Machel are members of the Elders: 12 world-respected statesmen with hands-on experience in conflict resolution. The group was formed last year by Machel and Mandela on his 89th birthday.

Yesterday houses of prayer and worship throughout the nation (and others) rang bells, lit candles, lit incense, offered prayers, blessings, good will to the new President-elect. The previous week were tributes from world leaders, USA politicians,, rock stars and Hollywood celebrities, sports stars, TV announcers and pundits, Radio DJ's, activist groups and people everywhere on the street or from their offices. TV news, in a desperate bid to keep viewers now that the elections are over, tried to pretend which bred of dog(s) Obama should get for his kids was a topic of national interest. But - BOOM! - What the people were really interested in and what they wanted exploded onto the scene (just like who they wanted elected, ! exploded, despite stupid or negative meda) -- The Inauguration. who told me he read my article and wanted to report on it for the L.A. Times. I agreed, provided that he credit me and/or mention my name and site in the article, to which he agreed. We spoke on the phone at some length. In April, Wallsten wrote the story. Portions of it were lifted from my article. But I was never credited, contrary to Wallsten's promise. Even the Politico said Wallsten plagiarized me. I'm almost positive that the video Wallsten referenced in the story was obtained from Arab American Action Network founder Abunimah because my article--the one Wallsten ripped off from me--featured photos of Barack Obama and wife Michelle seated with PLO advisor Edward Said at another AAAN annual banquet and led Wallsten to contact Abunimah. I noted in my article--from which Wallsten got most of his info--that the pics were from Ali Abunimah's Electronic Intifada site, in which he wrote about Obama's 180 on Israel from those days of AAAN dinners and PLO confabs.

POPSUS third parties fight to be heard I'd heard of Nader and what he represents, not Baldwin. They are right about being frozen out. No money for ads is a good enough reason to cut coverage, it seems. It is important that minority parties exist. Where they don't exist, people feel disenfranchised and resort to violence.
