POPSEric Gustafson Eric on his work: To achieve my results, I either drive or bike to various locations and explore on foot, armed with only my camera and sometimes a tripod for the low light situations. Nothing is ever pre-arranged. No lighting setup. No props. No actors. When I find myself exploring and traversing areas unknown and new to me, armed only with my camera and a curious perspective, time slips away and I see things the way I feel they were always meant to be seen. I capture them. I take them afterwords and play with them. I get lost in them. To me it is an intimate process of projecting myself and my perspective onto the world, and the images that I produce are a very personal reflection of myself.

POPSUnfortunately For Our Nation "These Our Actors"(Obama's Crew)...Shall Not Dissolve In Time For Us "These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits, and Are melted into air, into thin air, And, like the baseless fabric of vision, The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with sleep." - William Shakespeare, The Tempest, 4.1

POPSPorn stars are the new crossover artists There are also some complaints : "Back in the early days of porn, all the porn had a sense of humor to it, very bawdy, very winky, almost vaudevillian," he says. "It feels to me like the sense of humor has seeped out of porn. Audiences want to go straight to the action." "Asked why adult stars have become more acceptable in Hollywood, Soderbergh cited the proliferation of Internet porn"

POPSBetter, Not Just More, Regulation A lot of people are framing this current mess as "we had too little regulation, now we need more." I tend to think this misses the point. Sarbanes-Oxley was passed six years ago. That's more regulation. Had Sarbanes-Oxley been just beefed up would it have stopped the crisis? Along with this professor, I worry that the discussion about regulation is going to focus on the size of regulation, rather than its quality.

POPS Obama's Foreign Policy Judgment In October 2008, the Iranian government announced its own preconditions for one-on-one meetings with the Unites States: Pull all US troops out of the Middle East, and abandon support for “Zionist” Israel. These absurd demands further expose Obama’s very poor judgment vis-a-vis a regime that is actively aiding and abetting terrorists in Iraq who are killing US servicemen. Iran’s “preconditions” prove that negotiating with bad-faith actors who hate Americans and Jews would accomplish nothing other than handing their regime a PR coup. In recent months, Obama’s campaign has continually claimed that he didn’t actually make the promise that he did. The tape does not lie.

POPSAlec Baldwin Praises Palin as 'Good Sport' for SNL Visit Liberal leftists have jumped on Baldwin, attacking him for supporting Sarah Palin's appearance on Saturday Night Live. Alec says she was "a good sport." Palin loved the SNL experience. She said the show was "welcoming and friendly" and "(e)veryone was so nice." Critics liked her, too.

POPSStrike in Bombay Film World Behind the facade of Film World misery lurks in every phase of that 'false' world. The Media is the first culprit in exploiting women. The rest of scoundrels follow from Producers, Directors and every technician involved.

POPSOut in Hollywood: Starring Roles are Rare “The industry is persuaded that being known as gay will undermine your credibility both as romantic lead or an action star,” said Larry Gross, director of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California and author of a book on media portrayals of gays and lesbians. “They don’t test it,” he said. “We’re waiting for the Jackie Robinson moment when someone tests that assumption and discovers it’s not true.”

POPSPaul Newman, actor who personified cool, dies My deepest sympathy to his wife Joanne Woodward and the rest of his friends and family. "Sometimes God makes perfect people," fellow "Absence of Malice" star Sally Field said, "and Paul Newman was one of them." We will miss our friend Paul Newman, but are lucky ourselves to have known such a remarkable person," Robert Forrester, vice chairman of Newman's Own Foundation, said in a statement. "Our father was a rare symbol of selfless humility, the last to acknowledge what he was doing was special," his daughters said in a written statement. "Intensely private, he quietly succeeded beyond measure in impacting the lives of so many with his generosity." Newman is survived by his wife, five children, two grandsons and his older brother Arthur.
