POPSIran's new parliament speaker I think the important point here is the influence and wishes of Iran's clerical leaders, who actually rule the country. They want a "less confrontational approach"...for the time being. We know they approve of Ahmedinijad but he is like the gung-ho mafia apprentice that lets his enthusiasm get in the way of his prudence. When Ahmedinejad is gone Iran will be the same. The face and persona of it's President will be different.

POPSNow,if You Don't Care about death to the west............. Sure, the blanket condemnations of Machmud & Iran leave one wanting for details and actual reasons, and it may be easy to fall for the "enlightenment" and imagined clarity in "realizing" the innocence of Ahmehdinejad, but if one stops right there, one has done little thinking, and a lot of following.

POPSOfficial Iran Hides Presidents Gay Comments Does this mean that even with the Internet, and 24 hours cable news services, the news can still be manipulated in Iran so that their president's ridiculously ignorant comments can be hidden and ignored, or does it mean that they will do anything conceivable to make gays invisible in their midst? Whaddaya think?

POPSCU Students Cry Foul-Not EnoughTime The single comment by ANONYMOUS says it pretty well: < When you boil this all down, I guess it is really all about you. Your need of preparation, your need to schedule your rallies. When the tanks roared through Tenamen Square, how many Chinese students said "Please wait, we have not had time to prepare for the tanks. Stop the tanks we have to make signs for our rally". Uprisings all around the world will have a new battle cry. "To the barricades, but first let me finish my Frapuccino with 2 Splendas. I guess things have come a long way since the Strawberry Statement. >

POPSBush is Planning Nuclear Strikes Against Iran's Secret Sites Hersh claims that one of the plans, presented to the White House by the Pentagon, entails the use of a bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapon, such as the B61-11, against underground nuclear sites. One alleged target is Iran's main centrifuge plant, at Natanz, 200 miles south of Teheran. This newspaper disclosed recently that senior Pentagon strategists are updating plans to strike Iran's nuclear sites with long-distance B2 bombers and submarine-launched missiles. And last week, the Sunday Telegraph reported a secret meeting at the Ministry of Defence where military chiefs and officials from Downing Street and the Foreign Office discussed the consequences of an American-led attack on Iran, and Britain's role in any such action. The military option is opposed by London and other European capitals.

POPSCatch All antiSemitism hids Racism, Apartheid, Ethnic Cleansing, Land Theft, Torture, Assassination
Ahmedinejad never vowed to wipe Israel off the map, yet the lie is slyly and regularly repeated to drum up support for an attack on Iran. Israel's supporters level the anti-Semitism charge against Arabs, too, to explain away Arab outrage over Israel's racist and colonialist policies toward Palestinians, defined by land theft and control through ethnic cleansing, imprisoning walls, and the imprisonment and assassination of any Palestinian with leadership potential. As though these are insufficient reasons for hatred of Israel; as though Palestinians would tolerate the ongoing assault on their existence as a nation were non-Jewish oppressors responsible. This pretence that Israel is being persecuted by malevolent Arabs is easily debunked when the facts are considered: take for example kill rates (an average of 4 Palestinian civilians killed for every Israeli killed; about 8 Palestinian children for every Israeli child); house demolitions (thousands of Palestinian homes, 0 Israeli

POPSAhmadinejad: Oil Price Is Lower Than Value This guy is like a joke: "The global oil price has not reached its real value yet. The products derived from crude oil are sold at prices dozens of times higher than those charged by oil-producing countries"
