POPSDozens killed in US attack on Afghan wedding party What the hell is going on with our military? The U.S. does not have a reputation for murdering civilians. And yet lately many civilians have lost their lives at our hands. Are we becoming careless? In this age of advanced technology why are we not able to be more precise in selecting our targets instead of just killing everyone and hoping to get the right one. Are we being played by erroneously intelligence for the purpose of making us look like murderous fools? This trend is very disturbing.

POPSIsrael Raids Gaza, Hamas Fires Back "Rocket Attacks on Israel" is what U.S. headlines will read, as if Israel did nothing to provoke this. (Already the radio is painting it as attacks on Israel without the full context). 1. Israel has blockaded Gaza (starving Palestinians) since June 2007 2. Israel violated the cease-fire by their military raid which killed militants on their own side of the border. (What would hypocritical Israel say to Hamas raiding within their border? Do they expect Hamas to disarm within Gaza?) So should Hamas, acting to defend Palestinians in Gaza do nothing? What would you do? So as the American elections close Israel is "setting the table" (agenda) for Obama, playing the victim when they are the aggressor. Note the "drone air attack" Israel used, as does the U.S. within the sovereign country of Pakistan. Drone attacks are cowardly, and aggression made cheap.

POPS Is the bad economy saving low-rated shows from cancelation? NBC's "Knight Rider," ABC's "Private Practice" and Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" recently received orders for an additional nine episodes apiece. Such a move typically indicates a network's confidence in a show's performance and signals the inclination to keep a series on the air for the duration of the season. But all three shows have posted modest ratings in recent weeks, with "Knight Rider" and "Terminator" having numbers that in previous years would have resulted in cancellation.

POPSPakistan Orders Troops to Fire Back Against US Insurgents
Pakistan finally reclaims it sovereignty and orders its troops to fire back if US forces or drones violate their border again and attack on their soil (usually killing more civilians than combatants). This is the only way to change Bush policy and now forces Bush (and even Obama who says he would do same) to reconsider the consequences of such actions. Multi-million dollar attacks using Predator drones is cowardly warfare and a clever way to hit and run while never proving who exactly was being targetted and committing gross negligence in regard to innocent civilians. This is also contrary to the principles of Just War which requires solid ID, direct confrontation where opportunity to surrender is offered, and separating civilians from combatants during any attack, instead of this "just kill them all" policy called "scorched earth". There also is no way to identify (after missiles or bombs strike) who the persons really are, or justification to attack.

POPSUK Denies Money to Wounded Afghans I think there are a lot more deaths from "collateral damage" and so do officials reprting...It's disgusting what our tax dollars are doing.... ‘We have huge concerns, especially over the number of casualties from air strikes,’ said Marc Garlasco, a former air strike commander for the Pentagon who left after becoming disillusioned with the number of innocent victims in Afghanistan and who is the author of this week’s HRW report. He said the casualty figures must be viewed as extremely conservative with the total representing the ‘bare minimum’.

Some will say this is another mistake - mistake No. 2,000,000. When a society continues killing by "mistake," we can draw only one conclusion: that the "mistakes" are intentional.

POPSUS Diplomacy On Iran Amid Reported Israeli Attack Exercise "I can certainly understand that, given the fact that the president of Iran has talked about wiping Israel off the map," he said. "So Israel does see Iran as an existential threat. But again, I am going to have to kick any questions about what was intended by this exercise, what its purpose was, what they hoped to accomplish, to the Israeli government. They're the competent officials to talk about those issues." Israel staged a long-range air strike to destroy an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1980, and last September it bombed a facility in northern Syria said by some analysts to have been a reactor being built with North Korean help. Iran insists its nuclear program is entirely peaceful, but Israel and key Bush administration officials, among others, believe it is seeking a weapons capability.

POPSIsrael: Massive Rocket Barrage In South It was the first indication that the blast was caused by an accident, a claim earlier made by Israel "We deny any connection to this incident," IDF spokeswoman Maj. Avital Leibovich had said, adding that the army had not been operating in the area at the time. Meanwhile, IDF soldiers opened fire at a car that approached the border fence in northern Gaza. The army said the Palestinians in the vehicle apparently attempted to infiltrate Israel. Earlier, three Palestinian gunmen were killed by IDF soldiers operating in Gaza. The army said that two gunmen were identified alongside the security fence near Beit Lahiya and were fired upon by Givati Brigade troops, who confirmed a hit. A third operative was killed in an IAF air strike in the nearby Jabalya refugee camp. Palestinian sources claimed that Fatah operatives had attempted to infiltrate an IDF outpost in the northern Gaza Strip and were killed in the ensuing gun battle.
