POPSPirates Capture Saudi Oil Tanker
Pirates have seized a giant Saudi-owned oil tanker in the Indian Ocean off the Kenyan coast and are steering it towards Somalia, the US Navy reports. The US-bound tanker was captured on Saturday some 450 nautical miles (830km) south-east of Mombasa, and is now approaching the Somali port of Eyl. The Sirius Star is carrying its full load of 2m barrels - more than one-quarter of Saudi Arabia's daily output. Its international crew of 25, including two Britons, is said to be safe. Lt Nathan Christensen, a spokesman for the US Navy's 5th Fleet, said the attack was "unprecedented". The route around the Cape of Good Hope is a main thoroughfare for fully-laden supertankers from the Gulf, the world's biggest oil-exporting region. With a capacity of 318,000 dead weight tonnes, the ship is 330m (1,080ft) long and is classed as a Very Large Crude Carrier. "Vela response teams have been mobilised and are working to ensure the safe release of crew members and the vessel," it a

POPSHow has McCain been "tested?" And so, the point is even more clear-cut than it might seem at first glance: Just because "John McCain sat in a cockpit on a flight deck during the tensest five days of the Cuban Missile Crisis, that doesn't mean he absorbed the slightest bit of wisdom about how to handle a crisis from the top." Just being a fighter pilot or a POW doesn't mean you are ready to be president. Nobody really is and this whole experience thing, on both sides, is an enormous red herring.

POPSMcCain Raises Fear of Nuclear Shootout with Russia
In 1962 was "The Cuban Missile Crisis," when President John Kenney got on TV and publicly announced that if the Russian used any one single one of their nuclear missiles in Cuba that the United States would launch a full-scale nuclear attack against the Soviet Union. McCain was there. Apparently he would like to be there again, an assigned target, on the deck of his aircraft carrier, go to go. Do we really want this flyboy in office!? Another old John Wayne cowboy acting out his wet dreams in public!? It's scary. People in the States in 62 freaked out. They woke up everyday wondering if this was going to be the day the world would end, had we got to the point of nuclear annihilation at last. Funny enough (ha ha) the USA (and now Europe) are in a similar missile bases crisis. The USA is building a missile base in Poland, on the Russia border. Russia has said: "Remove those missiles or we will attack." (yes...yes they have). Now...do you want McCain or Obama in charge a

POPSU.S. Pilot Was Ordered To Shoot Down UFO They came! Okay, not on October 14th, but maybe the psychic, forgot to adjust for reverse intergalactic daylight savings or something. *LOL* Woot woot! I love stuff like this. It's what dreams are made of. :D The documents contain no official explanation for the incident, which came at a time of heightened tension between the West and the Soviet Union. Planes were on constant stand-by at British bases for a possible Soviet attack. "I shall never forget it," he told the Times. "On that night I was ordered to open fire even before I had taken off. That had never happened before." "Perhaps what this pilot had seen was some kind of experiment in electronic warfare or maybe it was a UFO," he said. "Something very unusual happened."

POPSMishaps mark John McCain's record as naval aviator McCain says he knows how to "win a war." Where did he learn this? He was the very bottom of his class (so he didn't learn it there), he crash three jets during peace-time (so he didn't learn it there), the explosion on the carrier was actually his panicking and dropping his bombs into a fire on the deck (so he didn't learn it there), he was downed and became a POW (so he didn't learn it there), the war he was in was Vietnam, the only war the U.S. ever lost (so he didn't learn it there). So where exactly did McCain acquire this great ability to "win a war?" I don't see it!

POPSUS to invade Iran any day now? Hmmm lets see if we make it to the 2008 elections.. I predict that IF Obama wins we will see something occur which will allow bush to suspend elections under his Presidential Directive which actually gives him the right to do this without congressional approval >> please read this white house.gov document.. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html << I'm not kidding!

POPS$480 Billion isn't Enough? The story points out a warning in June from the Government Accountability Office that the Department of Defense's "portfolio of weapons systems far exceeds its resources." Food for thought for defense investors, particularly as November elections approach.

POPSIn photos: 'Georgia South Ossetia Conflict August 8th' The Georgian government and separatists in its region of South Ossetia deployed fighter jets to carry out bombings on one another on 08 August after a ceasefire declared by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was broken after a few hours, a news report said. Many civilians were killed in the airstrikes, Russia‘s Interfaxnews agency reported, citing South Ossetia‘s Health Ministry. The South Ossetia side for the first time deployed two Suchoi SU-25 fighter jets to bomb Georgian positions, and a short timelater, Georgia sent five of the same jets to carry out attacks in South Ossetia, Interfax said.

POPSRussian Bombers Could Be Deployed To Cuba It was unclear if the source was suggesting that Russia would reopen a base in Cuba or merely use an airfield there for stopovers by the bombers, Tu-160s and Tu-95s, which are already capable of reaching the United States from bases in Russia. Russian strategic bombers, long mothballed, resumed worldwide patrols last year under orders from then-President Vladimir Putin. The flights have continued under his successor, Dmitry Medvedev. Aircraft from the NATO alliance have repeatedly scrambled as the bombers approached but did not enter the airspace of alliance countries. The Russian bombers also buzzed low over the USS Nimitz, an American aircraft carrier, in the Pacific Ocean this year. The United States says it wants to deploy tracking radar in the Czech Republic and 10 missile interceptors in Poland as a defensive measure against missiles that might be fired from countries such as Iran.
