POPSConservative Bloggers Poised to Progress The Republican Party may still be licking its wounds, but conservative bloggers, pointing to recent history of their counterparts on the left, are licking their chops. As Democrats entered the political wilderness earlier this century, liberal sites like www.dailykos.com and others thrived. “I suspect within the next four years," says Erick Erickson of www.redstate.com, "the left is going to be surprised at how well the right progresses and develops online.”

POPSNorthwest Indiana LakeNET Just found this site today, the blogging links are extremely weak so most of the "5,000+" links are pretty weak old version web 1.0 sites from chamber lists. They do host not for profit websites, mainly due to their funding coming from State grant. My humble opinion is that the board needs some web 2.0 talent, some people that actually engage in social media. The site is pretty but not all that useful yet.

POPSDK Politicians Oppose Offering Guantanamo Detainees Asylum Guantanamo Bay is an American creation. Trying to wipe off their responsibility to these people, onto their allies, is cowardly and pathetic. The released detainees should without a doubt be allowed to stay in America. It was the US, not us, who screwed up these people's lives. They broke it. They can fix it. .

POPSWomen finally allowed on Jerusalem Buses "When Black-Eyed Peas played in Jerusalem, the bus company photo-shopped Fergie out of the band posters. Boy, was Fergie fuming like an angry minx about this when she came out on stage. Clearly she likes to be on the bus, in the driver's seat. Time was running out for the youthful party, so they approached an advocacy group, the Israel Religious Action Center, whose lawyer Einat Hurvitz rushed the case to the high court on Nov. 8, three days before the vote. Next morning, the judge heard the case and scolded Egged's behavior as "shameful'. Wake Up, Jerusalemites rushed out and plastered their posters on as many buses as they could find, and a sympathetic Israeli press covered the event, giving them more P.R. then they could ever have dreamed of."

POPSSaying 'no' to a new heart More: "It is excruciating to imagine the pain not only of this child but of her parents, trying to do the right thing. They are told one night that an ambulance would come and take her away because they were not doing their job to protect her. And yet you understand why doctors will err on the side of treatment. And why the doctor who called in the authorities was concerned about the ability of anyone, but especially a 13-year-old, to walk away from something that represented hope, however feeble. But you have to be grateful that the ultimate judges kept an open mind, let Hannah make her case and found it reasonable for her circumstances. This is ultimately what respect for life looks like; it means respecting an individual's right to decide how she wants to live, even if that involves knowing she will die. Mercy, detached from Justice, grows unmerciful, C.S. Lewis said. But surely justice detached from mercy grows unjust."

POPS"The Mysterious Coral Castle" continues (more at source) : Teenagers living in the area claimed they saw him one night, “singing to the massive stone, and it moved like it was a hydrogen balloon, easily settling into place.” By his own account, Edward claimed, “I have discovered the secrets of the pyramids, and have found out how the Egyptians and the ancient builders of Peru, Yucatan, and Asia, with only primitive tools, raised and set in place blocks of stone weighing many tons.”

POPSThe Truth Behind Prop 8…and the Mormon LIES Mormonism was wrong to venture once again into a political matter. But even worse was to wage a campaign that was based almost entirely on lies. For example, no church will ever be required to perform weddings it doesn't want to perform. Catholicism and Judaism have been refusing to perform interfaith marriages forever. And they still are allowed to legally refuse to perform a marriage they don't want to perform, even in Massachussetts where gay marriage has been legal for several years.

POPSRebuild the Republican Party Some aggressive and bold moves this week to start the process of learning from our mistakes and structural problems ... learning from the Obama and Ron Paul movements ... and rebuilding the party. Well worth reading the entire platform.
