POPSYou Unemployed Blue-Collar Workers Can Freeze In The Dark, Too Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. This ought to be a big hit with coal miners. Or, for that matter, anybody else since we currently produce half of our electricity with coal. But hey, candlelight is so romantic. What are we talking about? The ObaMarx’s energy “plan”, that’s what. The plan under which he intends to put the coal business out of business . . . But why don’t we let him speak for himself?: What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted. http://www.nicedoggie.net/2008/?p=2850

POPS"Obama Wins!," declares newspaper "So, “each copy must be read by 100 different and distinct people. This places an enormous burden on our intrepid readers. However, it is a burden that we must insist you carry. So, please, read quickly, care for the physical condition of the paper and pass it on to your next chosen reader.”

POPSMoney grubbing careless Shieks Sooner alternative energy sources are developed efficiently the better off the world will be leaving the "thiefdoms" behind as a foot note in history .

POPSFree Nationwide Wi-Fi Network To Censor Political Websites Blogs, social networks, alternative news to be filtered out I wonder if Clipmarks will be among them? If they want to block "alternative political websites, that go against the corporate establishment", blogs, alternative news and social networks, then half the internet will be banned! *LOL* Damn, if this wasn't so ridiculously fascist, it would be funny.

POPSThe Health Care Issue So what would happen? The good news, such as it is, is that more people would buy individual insurance. Indeed, the total number of uninsured Americans might decline marginally under the McCain plan — although many more Americans would be without insurance than under the Obama plan. But the people gaining insurance would be those who need it least: relatively healthy Americans with high incomes. Why? Because insurance companies want to cover only healthy people, and even among the healthy only those able to pay a lot in addition to their tax credit would be able to afford coverage (remember, it’s a $5,000 credit, but the average family policy actually costs more than $12,000). Meanwhile, the people losing insurance would be those who need it most: lower-income workers who wouldn’t be able to afford individual insurance even with the tax credit, and Americans with health problems whom insurance companies won’t cover.

POPSMcCain's Playing at "Leadership?" John Mcain is either (a) playing politics and setting himself up to be a hero by screwing around with the US financial system or (b) just a poor leader unable to rein in his own party and provide positive input.

POPSAlaska Still Pursuing 'Bridge to Nowhere' Not only was Palin not against the project in the beginning, but her administration is still trying to get it done. The piece goes on: "What the media isn't reporting is that the project isn't dead," Roger Wetherell, spokesman for Alaska’s Department of Transportation, said. In a process begun this past winter, the state’s DOT is currently considering (PDF) a number of alternative solutions (five other possible bridges or three different ferry routes) to link Ketchikan and Gravina Island. She wasn't for it before she was against it, Palin was for it before she was for it, but said she was against it.

POPSMemo to President Obama 2010 Politically, we have not seen the benefits of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. It seems that every Democratic Senator has decided that if you could become President they could too. Considering that they are all more qualified than you, all of them are now also running for President - with the exception of Senator Schumer, who seems to be running for the position of God. He believes that is his appropriate pay grade, since no one else has it.

POPSSarah Palin Takes on The Washington Establishment But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion -- I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country." On energy policies: "Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America's energy problems -- as if we all didn't know that already. But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all. Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines ... build more nuclear plants ... create jobs with clean coal ... and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources. We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers."

POPSDenver Police Arresting ABC Producer Overzealous Police in Denver arresting ABC producer, so much for the freedom of the press. If even the Mainstream Media people are arrested, imagine what will happen to the alternative Press People.

POPSNoseless seats a less pressing option It should be a great alternative for recreational use, and some professions where bike riding is part of the job description, but it isn't really an option for sports racing, where time is more important than comfort. Some bike racers would prefer to have a groin injury, than lose a second. Another remedy suggested by Dr Barnes, apart from seat adjustment, is a good quality chamois in the shorts. - However you may want to be careful not to use it to dry the car. Another thing. Police may know how to ride a bike, but what fraction have ever adjusted the seat?

POPSPhysical Intimidation Of Online Anti-War Crusader According to Whitney, “The well-dressed man told Tom’s wife that he knew where her son lived, what line of work he was in, and how many children he had.” Subsequently, two men in a parked car a block from Tom’s mother’s house were spotted using laptops and sped off when they were approached by Tom’s son.

POPSl’énergie nucléaire "Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama and Al Gore have both confirmed that they see nuclear power as a necessary part of the nation's future "energy mix"—a view also shared by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a growing number of congressional Democrats, as well as a handful of environmentalists who support the nuclear option as an imperfect but unavoidable alternative to global warming and response to peak oil."

POPSGeneral Electric And Al Gore $cheme To Undermine Domestic Drilling GE stubbornly adheres to climate change alarmism because it has placed a huge financial bet on carbon-free energy sources, such as wind, that are threatened by domestic oil production. Climate change fears and tight oil supplies are the driving force for renewable energy. Increasing the supply of oil will reduce its price, making wind power even less competitive, even with generous government subsidies. GE CEO Jeff Immelt, already in hot water for poor stock performance, can't afford to lose his gamble on renewable energy. Faced with this threat, Immelt is shrewdly using his NBC news empire to promote climate change fears and wind turbines as a sound energy alternative. For economic and national security reasons Americans desperately need natural resource development in our own backyard.
