An easy way to get by the problem when using 32bit components in 64bit applications. In order to work the publicKeyToken and such have to be changed in order to meet the installed components.
I was trying to use Canon Pixus 560i on my linux box which has mips-based CPU. The genuine driver is provided, however, it contains binary, closed-source libraries, and therefore, my linux box can't use it... Canon driver sucks!!
If anyone knows of some foolproof way to install the Flash plugin in Firefox in Ubuntu 64bit version (Edgy Eft); feel free to share. (Both Ubuntu & Firefox are 64bit versions) (I haven't tested the above method yet)
