David Duke's Take on the Presidential Election
iulawboy
by iulawboy  11-1-2008
This is from an NPR interview. Duke believes that McCain is a traitor to his race. I'm glad NPR conducted this interview. If we pretend that thinking like Duke's doesn't exist then we let it fester. When we expose these beliefs to the light of day we can start to counter them, to hold them up to scrutiny and attack them head on. Racial bias has been recently shown to exist. When people perceive an applicant to be black (from their resume) they perceive their qualifications as less than they do when the same candidate is perceived to be white. Affirmative action works to correct this very real problem.

But, John, You Can't Fire the SEC Chair
DanaGarrett
by DanaGarrett  9-18-2008    2
One of the biggest myths of the current presidential campaign is the competence of John McCain. He makes elementary blunders often (like thinking that the Pime Minister from Spain is located in Latin America). Some are now speculating that something is "up" with his capacity to reason. It might be more charitable to simply point out that he graduated second-to-last in his class for nothing.

Americans Need Not Apply
sahara
by sahara  6-29-2008
Corporations that were formerly thought of as great American companies have betrayed their home and their people and now wave the banner of globalist corporations instead of the American flag. They have no loyalty to the American worker who has grown old in a lifetime of service to their corporations. And they have no sense of obligation to the generations who now seek a future with them. Governmental departments like the FDA are to blame for lowering safety standards and not having the courage to hold politicians and corporations accountable when safety and standards are compromised. They are too weak to demand proper funding so safety measures can be assured. The link below will lead you to a site that lists American products proudly made by American workers. While you are there, visit the site in total for it is a treasure trove of information. http://www.devvy.com/made_inthe_usa.html

"we" means "me"
willhelm
by willhelm  5-4-2008    1
"Whatever one thinks of Sens. Clinton and McCain, they're as familiar as any public figures can be. Obama, on the other hand, is running explicitly on a transcendent "magic." It doesn't help when the cute girl in spangled tights keeps whining about how awful everything is, and the guy you sawed in half sticks himself together and starts rampaging around the stage. The magician has lost control of the show."

D-Day

"Because lying is the problem, truth-telling has become our national cure. Not surprisingly, all this makes recovery a long and often unhealthy process. A woman in Tennessee told me that she had gained 60 pounds since her husband found out she had been sleeping with a co-worker, in part because the couple now spends most of their free time on the couch rehashing the affair. “Neither of us cries as much as we used to, because of the antidepressants,” her husband said. The fact is that many couples, like this one, end up staying together. The Patersons did. The Spitzers might, too, if we give them a chance. Whatever Eliot Spitzer’s and David Paterson’s sins, just surviving infidelity in America may be punishment enough."

America's "End The War" Hijacked [hint: Democrats 2008 Presidential Election]
merrie
by merrie  2-9-2008
Though few congressional aides would think of saying so on the record, in private many dismiss their party's lame anti-war effort as an absurd dog-and-pony show, a calculated attempt to score political points without ever being serious about bringing the troops home. But in September, Gen. David Petraeus reported that Bush's "surge" in Iraq was working, giving Republicans who might otherwise have flipped sufficient cover to continue supporting the war. The Democrats had no choice, the legend goes, but to wait until 2009, in the hopes that things would be different under a Democratic president. Rather than use the vast power they had to end the war, Democrats devoted their energy to making sure that "anti-war activism" became synonymous with "electing Democrats." Capitalizing on America's desire to end the war, they hijacked the anti-war movement itself, filling the ranks of peace groups with loyal party hacks.

And Ohio carried Bush; you go figure! I will never understand how people who suffer the most thought they would benefit from the Bush administration. Regardless, it is all about corporations obligations to the workers to share some of the wealth with them, and to give back to the community that buys their products instead of profit greed and inflated CEO salaries. Don't tell me it can't be done without a sacrifice to the consumer in the cost the product because there are many examples, Costo being one of them.

WWII Filipino Veterans - Promised U.S. Veteran Benefits - Betrayed
BobbyRutan
by BobbyRutan  11-27-2007    3
But on February 18, 1946, the Congress passed and President Truman signed Public Law 70-301, known as the Rescission Act of 1946. It said that the service of Filipinos "shall not be deemed to be or to have been service in the military or national forces of the United States or any component thereof or any law of the United States conferring rights, privileges or benefits." Ever since, Filipino veterans and others appalled by this injustice have lobbied without success for a reversal of the Rescission Act. Mr. Ingles, whose sacrifices are vividly described above, gave voice to their frustration in his interview: "..the succeeding people who governed the States forgot about the promises made by Roosevelt when he encouraged Filipinos to fight for the Americans, and this we feel very bitter. In fact, even myself, because of what happened to us, I never received any pension from the U.S. Government as a soldier." The GOP is so petty they can't find $300 Million to honor a p

If their treason continues, then decent and thinking citizens everywhere -- concerned patriots all -- can only weep for their country What do you reckon folks? Any grand heroes out there in the wings waiting to ride in and save the good ol' US of A from self-destructing? A Democrat? Republican? Elections? Captain America? Superman? Batman? Naaa, Gotham City is doomed . Prepared for life under the eternal rule of Lex Luther and Co. They say you get the government you deserve. Maybe that's true! The politicians, the media and even the people have betrayed the USA and everything She supposedly stood for, by allowing it to happen. Such a shame. The USA had such a bright future once. What a shame to peak so young and throw it all away. A real shame.

Dr.MartinLutherKing: A Time to Break Silence. Swap Iraq for Vietnam.
righthand
by righthand  9-28-2007
"In the North, where our bombs now pummel the land, and our mines endanger the waterways, we are met by a deep but understandable mistrust. In Hanoi are the men who led the nation to independence against the Japanese and the French, the men who sought membership in the French commonwealth and were betrayed by the weakness of Paris and the willfulness of the colonial armies. It was they who led a second struggle against French domination at tremendous costs, and then were persuaded at Geneva to give up, as a temporary measure, the land they controlled between the 13th and 17th parallels. "After 1954 they watched us conspire with Diem to prevent elections which would have surely brought Ho Chi Minh to power over a united Vietnam, and they realized they had been betrayed again. "When we ask why they do not leap to negotiate, these things must be remembered. Also, it must be clear that the leaders of Hanoi considered the presence of American troops in support of the Diem regime to h
