POPSBefore & After “I and many family members don’t want revisionist history, and we don’t want this sanitized,” Wolf said. “It is very important that people remember what happened that day: This was civilization, people merely at work, caught up in religious fanaticism.” Charles Wolf was in his Greenwich Village apartment and reports seeing an American Airlines jet fly overhead and into the office tower where his wife was working. POPSTo Share the Company of Other Man-Caused Disaster Enthusiasts
Not only did he get past the French with his C4-packed sneakers, and do his damndest to blow that plane out of the sky, he’s been a real headache for the feds, staging hunger strikes and nuisance lawsuits. Here’s my Boston Herald story from December 2001: The passengers on American Airlines Flight 63 had finished a quiet lunch and were settling in for the long Atlantic flight faced with nothing more exciting than a movie when a flight attendant cried out for help yesterday. French TV journalist Thierry Dugeon, 36, was 10 rows behind the fracas in coach. “Suddenly, I heard a female voice, `I need some help! I need some help!’ ” Dugeon said. Instinctively, he ran up the narrow aisle to join the group of passengers in a desperate struggle with a man believed to have a bomb. “It’s three months after September 11th. Of course the first thing you think is something like terrorism,” Dugeon said. Dugeon described the melee that lasted long minutes.

POPSSurvey: Airport Wi-Fi more important than food With the outrages prices they charge for food at the airport this is a no brainer. Besides, you can skip a meal, but a lot of people need to stay connected. While we are on this issue, wi-fi should be available free to the public, everywhere.

POPS Anyone Care If KSM Was Water-Boarded?
the Bali nightclub bombings, the failed bombing of American Airlines Flight 63, the Millennium Plot, and the murder of Daniel Pearl. There is no ‘near drowning’ as the liberal media has been hyperventilating. We know from the Obama administration’s disclosure of classified material the man was waterboarded many, many times. He was sleep deprived and possibly slapped on the face. As some folks said it was tragic he did not get a taste of various college initiation rights as well. Our fighting men and women go through waterboarding to train them how to face up to what is really just a simple reflex action. There is no ‘near drowning’ as the liberal media has been hyperventilating. A cloth is placed over the face and water is poured over it, causing the reflexive panic that kicks in when one IS drowning. But it is nearly impossible to drown, the amount of water being used is just not that much. It is trick of the senses, it is not real drowning (water in lungs, etc).

POPSFascism in America As most of the rest of the world struggles to privatize industry and encourage free enterprise, we in the United States are seriously debating whether or not we should adopt 1930s-era economic fascism as the organizational principle of our entire health care system, which comprises 14 percent of the GNP. We are also contemplating business-government "partnerships" in the automobile, airlines, and communications industries, among others, and are adopting government-managed trade policies, also in the spirit of the European corporatist schemes of the 1930s. The state and its academic apologists are so skilled at generating propaganda in support of such schemes that Americans are mostly unaware of the dire threat they pose for the future of freedom. The road to serfdom is littered with road signs pointing toward "the information superhighway, health security, national service, managed trade," and "industrial policy."

POPSHow V.P. Gore Aborted Air Safety & Security September 24, 2001 counter-terrorism procedures. But within days, according to an insider on the commission, the airline industry jumped all over Gore. As a result, 10 days later, Gore sent a letter to airline lobbyist Carol Hallett promising that the commission's findings would not result in any loss of revenue. In what can only be seen as a pure political payoff, the Democratic National Committee received $40,000 from TWA the next day. Within two weeks, Northwest, United and American Airlines ponied up another $55,000 for the 1996 campaign. But the money trail didn't stop there. In the next two months leading up to the November elections, American Airlines donated $250,000 to the Democrats. United donated $100,000 to the DNC. Northwestern put $53,000 more into the kitty. Following the election, in January, Gore floated a draft final report that eliminated all security measures from the commission's findings, according to the insider.
