POPSHate-filled Islamic Fundamentalist Zombie Baby brainwashed, they say. And, uh....we're not? WE are invading and occupying Arab countries; that is the reason for resistance. The efforts at global war are about land, oil (and Israel). Thinking these are Religious Wars is propaganda: hook, line and sinker.

POPSSon of a gun: Uncle Sam turns nasty A tourist's reaction to visiting tourist sites. (This is from a Murdoch paper) I guess it would be amazing around sites even vaguely related to security. Sort of contradicts the fact that the armed person got so close to the Pentagon.

POPSIn Public Without A Man? That Would Be 300 Lashes In order to conduct any kind of business in public in the region, even to do simple things like having a medical appointment or opening a checking account or even driving a car, a woman must be accompanied by some male family member who can act as her guardian, even, as the newswire piece mentions, if that male is in fact a minor child like a son. According to Business Week, the system, which has been tracked by Human Rights Watch while leadership promised to correct issues over nine months ago, may be on a very slow path to turning around. The government put together a plan last month that would allow women lawyers to appear in court. Progress can't come soon enough. Last March an elderly Saudi woman was sentenced to 40 lashes, four months of jail and deportation from the country for being seen with two men who were not family. The men were bringing her bread.

POPSSon of Hamas on Islamic fanaticism Another interview with Son of Hamas, the son of a founder who was a Shin Bet spy for years before immigrating to the US. He clears up the falsehood that the so-called Second Intifada was provoked by Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount"this was simply the pretext Arafat was waiting for after planning the uprising for months before. He clears up the falsehood that Islam is a "religion of peace" by the following. His words are uncompromising. If they had been spoken by an American, he or she would be tarred as "islamophobic," "racist," or "extreme right-wing." But Son of Hamas knows what he's talking about, as does Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whose ideas he shares. They lived and breathed Islam before breaking free. The pompous "dissidents" of the West prating endlessly about "speaking truth to power" are shamed by the real thing. That's probably why the media declines to report on Son of Hamas's story, as compelling as it is.

POPSThe Good, The Bad, and the freakin Grotesque Con't: The Bad Because, somewhere along the timeline of his capture, the terrorist murderer suffered a school-yard fat lip, his captors are now being charged with nothing short of war crimes and facing discharge and imprisonment. So, instead of celebration of justice served and heroes honored, these photos record betrayal, compounded mourning and the effects of a corrupting sickness."

POPSThe Picture How did this come to happen to this poor mother’s son? It came to happen because the people in the media who are supposed to foster a public debate on such public issues as war instead used their franchise to promote articles about chocolate cake and comic book reviews. They see their free press as free to choose not to look when bad thinks happen. They feel no need to explain to his parents or to anyone that the war that blew off half of this poor boys head was based on out and out lies.

POPSA Letter to Nancy Pelosi You represent Socialistic and even Marxist principals that our founding fathers tried to avoid when setting out the capitalistic republican form of government represented by our Constitution. I find it interesting that you and your husband are multi-millionaires with much of your fortune being made as a result of your “public service”. You have controlled legislation that has enhanced your husband’s investments both on and off shore. At the same time you redistributed the wealth of others. Our system of a free market economy is being destroyed by the likes of you, Harry Reid, and now our President. You ride around in a Gulfstream airplane at the tax payer’s expense while criticizing the presidents of companies who produced something for the economy. You add nothing to the economy of the United States; you only subtract therefrom.

POPSImprisoned for Saving American Lives John Hatley was a highly decorated combat veteran of nineteen years and six months military service. He was deployed in Bosnia, Kosovo, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Operation Desert Storm and three tours of duty in Iraq. The soldiers of Alpha Company 1-18 1st Army Infantry knew him to be the first into a hot spot and the last to come out. Mrs. Hatley says that her husband was a legend in Alpha Company and treated the soldiers under his command as though they were family.

POPSHaitian Parents Tell Why They Entrusted their Children to the Detained American Baptist Missionaries
They said that the missionaries had promised they would be able to visit their children in the Dominican Republic, and that the children would be free to come home for visits. “If someone offers to take my children to a paradise,” Mrs. Antoine said of Carl and her daughter Jenisa, “am I supposed to say no?” Several parents denied accusations that they had been given money for their children, or that they wanted their children to be put up for adoption. They trusted the Americans, they said, because they arrived with the recommendation of a Baptist minister, Philippe Murphy, who runs an orphanage in the area. A woman who answered the door at Mr. Murphy’s house said he had gone to Miami. But she also said that he did not know anything about the Americans. “I just wanted him to have more than I have,” Ms. Valmont said of her 6-year-old son, Darwin. “What future can I give him here?” - more @ clip source

POPSProdigal Son & Rabbi Sex Scandal Some stories simply take your breath away. The Ponzi Scam of Bernie Madoff is one. The largest financial scam by an individual. (Goldman Sachs, probably, for a bank scam world record) This story is from the Tablet: A New Read on Jewish Life. Or the stealing money from Native American Indians to buy weapons for Israel -- like convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff did (among many other felonies). Whew! I like the part where a sheriff's deputy finds marijuana in his Bentley, so Aguiar accuses him of anti-Semitism and then tells the deputy: "I could buy you."

POPSMedia Warns of Grave GOP Danger The Christmas Day terrorist attack on Flight 253 was an actual disaster that never occurred thanks to luck (the bomb's detonators were faulty) and to heroism (a Dutch passenger, Jasper Schuringa, literally jumped over rows of passengers to nab the terrorist, subdue him, and save lives).

POPSOne person, one vote and billions to buy them? Not! Corporations are not really people that writers of our Constitution and Bill of Rights had in mind when they protected free speech - it was to guarantee our right to free speech to overcome power that had been bought or handed down from father to son and not to women, indigenous people or Black-Americans.

POPSRepublican Scott Brown Takes Stunning Victory From Democrat Bayh warns ‘Catastrophe’ if Democrats ignore Massachusetts senate race Lessons " The Note By Jonathan Karl - ABC News 01/19/10 Even before the votes are counted, Senator Evan Bayh is warning fellow Democrats that ignoring the lessons of the Massachusetts Senate race will “lead to even further catastrophe” for their party. There’s going to be a tendency on the part of our people to be in denial about all this,” Bayh told ABC News, but “if you lose Massachusetts and that’s not a wake-up call, there’s no hope of waking up.” What is the lesson of Massachusetts – where Democrats face the prospects of losing a Senate seat they’ve held since 1952? For Senator Bayh the lesson is that the party pushed an agenda that is too far to the left, alienating moderate and independent voters. Bayh warns fellow Democrats (more) http://bit.ly/58GG0a

POPSUnbelievable determination: The world's only known successful DIY C-section birth
More: A mother-of-eight, she lives in a hamlet in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. News of her remarkable do-it-yourself caesarean spread around the world only after the doctor who would eventually tend for the mother and her baby son, Orlando, was sent on attachment to a hospital in Chicago. An American colleague later wrote it up in the International Journal for Gynaecology and Obstetrics… Haltingly at first, Ines tells the remarkable story of how she gave birth. "I had seven children before Orlando," she says. "There was no problem with the births. But the eighth baby died. My waters broke and the midwife said I needed a caesarean but I couldn't get to the hospital in time. I felt the baby struggling but then it stopped moving. "When I was seven months pregnant with Orlando, one night the pain began. It was terrible. I couldn't bear it. I started to panic. I knew I had to do something or this baby would die too. I knew I had to get it out somehow."

POPSBest Homer Simpson Quotes of All Time Everyone knows rock n’ roll attained perfection in 1974; It’s a scientific fact.” “Ah, sweet pity. Where would my love life be without it?” “Kill my boss? Do I dare live out the American dream?” “They didn’t have any aspirin, so I got you some cigarettes.” “Go ahead and play the blues if it’ll make you happy.” “Marge, I’m going to miss you so much. And it’s not just the sex. It’s also the food preparation.” “Ah, TV respects me. It laughs with me, not at me!” “Bart! With $10,000, we’d be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like… love!” “Well, I’m tired of being a wannabe league bowler. I wanna be a league bowler!” “I guess some people never change. Or, they quickly change and then quickly change back.” “Lisa, honey, if it’ll make you feel better I’ll destroy something Bart loves.” “Your mother seems really upset about something. I better go have a talk with her… during the commercial.” “Stupid risks are what make life worth living.”

POPSObama's Security Record The insane flubbing of the Nigerian Christmas Bomber affair seems to me (and others) to be a turning point in the Obama Presidency. Here's some comment by one of the "others" (Kathleen Parker of the Washington Post): If Bush could be blamed for the dot-connecting inadequacies that helped enable the terrorist attacks of 9/11 eight months into his administration, then Obama can fairly be held responsible for the incompetence that allowed a disaffected jihadist to get explosive powder onto a plane. Obama's open-collared, vacation response from Hawaii was delivered on Katrina time " about two days too late " and fell a few links short of reassuring. Something about humans and systems failing. Yes, well, that would about cover it. Deep breath. The brightest among many was the perpetrator's own father's reports, both in person (twice) and by phone to American officials, that his son had become radicalized and might be dangerous. .....

POPSBlame The Teachers Again. When is somebody going to wake up and discover that it isn't teachers fault when students have parents (or parent) who don't really care how their son or daughter is doing in school. A teacher I know was shocked when one of her 3rd graders told her t"My daddies in prison" And I don't know about the rest of the country but here in So. Ca. students got 3 WEEKS OFF for winter (not Christmas. Politically incorrect) break. By the time they go back to school some of them will have forgotten where their classroom is. It's time to hold parents responsible and not just teachers.

POPSAvatar, not Ed, will make the case on climate The DVD is on order! It seems that the film can also influence rather skeptical adults, too. It's not whether climate change is man made, or not. It is the whole process of the destruction of eco-systems causing extinctions and suffering amongst those 'non human persons' who had lived there. The issue is one of morality, not science.

POPSSome Aloha State Natives are Blaming Obama In Part for Visitors Slump Hawaii no longer an economic paradise ..... Some residents blame the visiting President Obama. “We’re losing the group business that’s either canceled due to economic reasons or concerns about being seen as a company going to Hawaii,” said Keith Vieira, senior vice president and director of operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Hawaii and French Polynesia. Some Hawaiians are underwhelmed by the return of their native son. In the scruffy town of Wahiawa on Oahu, far from the beaches and fancy hotels, some locals waiting by a pawnshop for the bus were decidedly ambivalent about the president. “It’s not good here " there are no jobs,” said Hu Toelupe, who said she didn’t expect to see the president and didn’t care if she missed him.
