McCain Hopes Amnesia Will Get Him Elected.
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  9-6-2008
The American people would have toforget the last eight years to elect McCain and they would have to fall once again for the politics of divide and conquer, the politics of personal destruction rather than a politics that looks at facts and future plans. McCain has been part of the problem and now he's going to go in a fix it all? What a joke. The Republicans are FEMA. The Republicans are a still devasted New Orleans. The Republicans are stealing billions of dollars from taxpayers and putting profit into the pockets of Wall Street bankers. (maybe even TRILLIONS, with this latest bailout of failed mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac). The Republicans have led us into a war losing 4,000,plus of our own troops and now probably having killed 500,000 Iraqi's or more, cost us more billions (and maybe TRILLIONS) -- and this is for facts we now know are not true...Iraq had no connection to 9/11 and no WMD's But, forget all that. Amnesia. Vote for McCain. He has Alzheimer'

WPost and the Great Disconnect
katsteevns
by katsteevns  8-16-2008
“The most urgent need is to see clearly what is taking place,” the Post opined. Yet, what truly is taking place is a dangerous disconnect from reality in which Washington’s media and political elites see offenses that others commit (often cast in the harshest light) while averting their eyes from their own equally bad or worse behavior. In judging American actions, evenhandedness is a sin; double standards are a virtue. Up is down; objectivity is a crime.

The Wolf is Back; Neocons Control "Security" Policy
blueridge
by blueridge  6-1-2008
The return of Wolfowitz to Bush government was missed by many. Dated December article, but very important. When you see "Security" think "war planning" instead. The pairing of he and James Woolsey (both of the infamous Project for a New American Century) in the same panel is an indication of "fixing the intelligence around the policy" to go to war again.

Airliness Blame FBI, CIA in 9/11 Lawsuits
blueridge
by blueridge  5-1-2008
The official story (Lie) has this problem to deal with now, since the "intelligence failure" falls apart from the point of view of the agencies named who claim that there were indications, but now refuse to testify in court about it in lawsuits against the airlines. If you assume the official story (blindly, contrary to the evidence) to be true, then why have not any government agencies been faulted for failure to protect America on 9/11, including NORAD? George Tenant instead won a medal of freedom (and that for covering another "intelligence failure" about WMD in Iraq). In the lawsuit against the CIA, companies including American Airlines Inc., United Airlines Inc., US Airways Group Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc., Continental Airlines Inc. and The Boeing Co. are seeking to interview the deputy chief of the CIA's bin Laden unit in 2001, and an FBI special agent assigned to the unit at that time. The names of both are secret.

Syria's "Nuclear Program" Intel Faked; Welcome to Neocon Studios
blueridge
by blueridge  4-28-2008    1
Welcome to Neocon Studios: Another production from those who brought you the Iraq War. The editor's notes at start set the stage as the author traces it through. Allegedly US and Israel struck Syria with war planes a while back claiming it was a nuclear weapons program targeted and tied to North Korea. The intelligence, compiled by none other than Israel, has now been released. The evidence just happens to be "fixed around the policy" to go to war, just like Iraq, and before Bush's terms is out. There is no doubt that Saddam has amassed weapons of mass destruction.... --Vice Pres. Dick Cheney, member Project for New American Century (neocon think tank)

Saddam's Terror Links
merrie
by merrie  3-24-2008    4
It's true that the Pentagon report found no "smoking gun," i.e., a direct connection on a joint Iraq-al Qaeda operation. Supposedly this vindicates the view that Iraq's liberation was launched on false premises. But the Administration was always cautious, with Colin Powell alleging merely a "sinister nexus" in his 2003 U.N. speech. If anything, sinister is an understatement. The main Iraq intelligence failure was over WMD, but the report indicates that the CIA also underestimated Saddam's ties to global terror cartels. The Administration has always maintained that Iraq is just one front in the war on terror; and the report offers "evidence of logistical preparation for terrorist operations in other nations, including those in the West." In 2002, an IIS memo explained to Saddam that Iraqi embassies were stockpiling weapons, while many of the terrorists trained in Fedayeen camps were dispatched to London with counterfeit documents, where they circulated throughout Europe.

Abid Mustafa: "The West to the World: Accept Our Values or Die"
Rasmus
by Rasmus  2-21-2008
The West armed with its secular doctrine and materialistic world-view proceeded to exploit, plunder and colonize vast populations in order to control resources and maximize wealth. In pursuit of these newfound riches the West succeeded in destroying civilizations such as the Incas, American Indians, Aztecs, and Aborigines. Those who survived colonization were forcibly converted to Christianity, stripped of their heritage and sold into bondage to western companies. For the indigenous people of Africa, India, Asia, the Middle East and others, the promises of freedom quickly evaporated and were replaced by colonial rule. Resistance offered by the natives towards their colonial masters was met by brute force . When the West was not destroying the natives they were too busy annihilating each other in a desperate bid to cling on to their precious colonies. World Wars I and II are prime examples of the destructive nature of western values.

Neocon's Plan to Seize Pakistan's Nukes
blueridge
by blueridge  12-1-2007
This Kagan is part of the neoconservative Kagan family, attached to the Project for New American Century, the one's that brought you the Iraq war. His profile is here. http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1240 Remember Musharreff was installed by (CIA assisted) coupe in 1999, and recently declared Martial Law, which was just lifted. Pakistan's WMD is real, but it is there country, and they are no threat. But it is filled with Islamics very angry at the U.S. for meddling in their country (the coupe) and want to get it back from Musharreff. The U.S. has no sovereign authority to invade another country or make another pre-emptive move. But blow-back could be a real threat for all that the U.S. has provoked over there. Remember the earlier clip too that Israel security firms are guarding the U.S. nuke supply...so if anything happens...

Iran: Cheney caught "fixing the intelligence around the policy"--again!
blueridge
by blueridge  11-12-2007
Yes Cheney is planning to pitch another "curve ball" on Iran's nuclear capability. This article, that has great inside sources (like a good scout), serves up the report on how this game will be played again, this time to justify war with Iran. This is precisely the same tactics he used with Iraq, so that Colin Powell could give "evidence of WMD" before the United Nations, and American people. (The title quote I gave it refers to the infamous Downingstreet Memos quote which proved that intelligence estimates on Iraq for WMD were "fixed" or fabricated, distorted ,cherry picked to create an illusion of danger, and that both American and British governments knew the truth. They lied).

Iraq war opposition at record high
Barry_1066
by Barry_1066  11-8-2007    9
I was against the war from the start. My country acting like the country that invaded Poland in WWII did not sit well with me. We have been given a reason for the war -- WMD and that was false. We have been diverted into the argument that Iraq was a terrorist state -- again proved false We have been pushed into the argument that we are liberating the Iraq people from Sadam -- um, there are bad leaders all over the world, why this one? Every argument given has failed to hold water -- the USA is engaging in imperialism -- and against international law. The numbers of people killed far far exceed the numbers for the "bad man Sadam" who was convicted of war crimes, not by an international court but by his enemies in Iraq. I hope there will be a time when Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney are tried in an international court for war crimes -- after the American people get through with them for violating the US Constitution.

More Evidence That Bush Lied About WMD
zasel
by zasel  9-7-2007
This new revelation adds more evidence to the belief that Bush and his cohorts lied to congress and the American people about the need to go to war in Iraq. This is a must-read article from Salon, and I urge you all to take the time to consider its contents. By the way, does anyone know what has happened to the so-called part 2 of the intelligence report that deals with how the White House used the intelligence leading up to the Iraq invasion? I know the Republicans under the leadership of Pat Roberts put it on the back burner and then turned off the pilot light. But the Dems promised that this report was A #1 on their list of things to complete and release, and since then, not a word has been said. Or, am I missing something?

This coincides with the preliminary reports that were coming out of Iraq & Syria when the invasion began. I *heard* them from independent sources. They even had aerial photos showing the lines of vehicles crossing the borders. I don't believe so many global intelligent sources were wrong at the time and I don't understand why the Administration has stonewalled investigations by our representatives and others. This person, and others who are convinced of the fact that WMDs were there, would have no reason to pursue something they *know* to be a lie; especially when the Administration has acquiesced and rolled over on the issue.

Who appointed the USA as judge and jury, or as no less than God? Why do we feel we have the right to "make all other nations a democracy?" What I see here is the typical of fundamental Christian influence. "We are right, and everyone else is wrong...we will change them." If you read the entirety of this article, I'm sure many of you will feel sick to your stomach. I can only hope, that somehow the world can one day see us as a place of hope and freedom, and not as what we have become by persisting in this war by these means and using such tactics of terrorism. Why, upon capturing Saddam Hussein, and finding no WMD, did we not leave the nation of Iraq? When intelligence sources indicated that Osama Bin Laden was not within the borders of Iraq, why did we persist in this attack upon this nation? No, I am not a political science major. I am not well versed in war-time strategy. I am a veteran, however. I was not in the Army during war or conflict. Now...I am a civil
