POPSHouse Begins Debate Over Plan to Chop Spending for Remainder of 2011
"The president wants to lock in these really high spending levels. Twenty-four percent increase in base government spending, 84 percent on domestic agencies, when you count the stimulus. We want to pull back all those spending agreements that he's trying to lock in. There's the impasse," he said. Rep. Rob Andrews, D-N.J., warned against threatening a shutdown. A government shutdown "would mean people wouldn't get their Social Security checks mailed. It would mean we'd stop paying FBI agents. It means air traffic controllers couldn't come to work. It would be a bad thing. We're just not going let it happen," Andrews told Fox News. The Republican budget package includes $100 billion in cuts to hundreds of programs for the remaining seven months of this federal fiscal year. AmeriCorps and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be zeroed out while deep cuts would be carved from energy programs to job training and beyond. http://www.foxnews.com

POPSobama’s civilian nation security force as large as the military, back in the news, … those who follow obama believe in nothing, just as the cynical bastards have been taught by the left for years. they believe nothing is worth dying for, and though they might not be disturbed at the thought of killing a couple of us, just for shits and giggles, kind of like leopold and loeb, they don't rightly think on balance that it is worth getting sweaty and dirty over. but, that doesn't mean that obama isn't trying. here is a compendium of what he has done. you follow the links. recruitment for this civilian “national security force” continues apace, under the guise and pretext of civic involvement on the part of school children. praise goes to pamela geller for keeping this issue alive. POPSTaxpayer Funded Serve.gov Filtering Activists to ACORN
The Obama Administration has placed a large premium on what it calls “national service.” It has launched a website, www.Serve.gov, that is reported to act as a clearing house for Americans eager to “give back” to their communities. Unfortunately, Americans looking for an opportunity to volunteer may get something they weren’t expecting. By typing “ACORN” into the search field entitled “What interests you” at Serve.gov, you’re transported to allforgood.org where you can choose from a list of volunteer opportunities, including “healthcare activist.” So after they assist you in procuring housing for your brothel of underage girls, ACORN can also assist you in skirting your taxes, in keeping with the law of probability. Serve.gov is just one of many projects managed by the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency which oversees various government service agencies, including Americorps, the outfit at the center of the . . .

POPS Join The Corps: City Year 0rganization City Year was founded on the belief that young people can change the world. City Year’s vision is that one day the most commonly asked question of a young person will be, “Where are you going to do your service year?” These projects revitalize communities, and foster a spirit of civic engagement by and bringing together community members from all walks of life. Leading Discussion and Development of National Service Policies and Initiatives City Year’s vision is pursued not only through action, but also through public policy outreach and international initiatives promoting the concept of citizen service, engaging policymakers, providing leadership to Voices for National Service, and securing support for AmeriCorps. By generating new, innovative policy ideas and leading discussion around these ideas, City Year seeks to build awareness and support for citizen service among leaders and key stakeholders across the country and the world .
