POPSWatch UC Berkeley Lectures (entire courses) Online, Free, Now. from anthropology to electrical engineering to geography to history to english to math to physics - Just about every class Berkeley offers. There's a drop down list at the top right, select a semester to see what classes are available. Each one has new classes. Personally I recommend Professor Muller's "Descriptive Introduction to Physics". He's a brilliant physicist and a great teacher. After that I'd recommend the "Modern Physics" class. You watch all the lectures as if you were sitting inside the classroom. The best part is, it's all legal! AND if you wanted a degree, you could watch all the lectures, study the coursenotes (also available online for free) - and then challenge the course once you know the material. pass the test and basically get a free degree. haha

POPSDo animals think like autistic savants ? I'm sure the animals were thinking like this a long time before people turned up. So far the theory doesn't seem like it will be easy to verify one way or another, but who knows ? We are always discovering things we never expected to know.

POPSThe Paradox of Political Animals “The paradox of a highly social species like rhesus monkeys and humans is that our complex sociality is the reason for our success, but it’s also the source of our greatest troubles,” he said. “Throughout human history, you see that the worst problems for people almost always come from other people, and it’s the same for the monkeys. You can put them anywhere, but their main problem is always going to be other rhesus monkeys.” aka 'le condition social'?

POPSAdversity Can Affect Brain While we have known for some time that serotonin, or lack of it , is linked to depression, substance abuse and other reckless behaviors, it appears that scientists already know there is a gene-environment interaction that can cause this to happen. Since serotonin can control reproductive systems, I was wondering if this might explain why only the Alpha female (normally) has the only litter in the wolf pack. Maybe the other females are so environmentally challenged through harassment by the dominant pair, that serotonin is reduced and that affects ovulation; just a thought...
