POPSPalin’s Taking Us Back to "McCarthyism".
The acrimonious language in Palin’s speeches, take us back to "McCarthyism". We've all known that Rightdiculous columnists and their nastier Right-Wing talk radio hacks have been doing this rhetoric for years. And that their ditto heads have been soaking it up, in the comfort of their living rooms, where they shout obscenities and hateful oratory, alone or among their kind. Now McCain’s, VP choice allows them a place IN PUBLIC to caterwaul their Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter induced RAGE. It must be a catharses for the pathetic souls who have been listening and reading the unadulterated animosity coming over air waves or in print, directed at some unknown enemy. They now can UNLEASH the bottled up hatred, in the open and have a recognizable foe, thanks to the self-proclaimed pit-bull. The wingnut goons behind desks or microphones must be MIGHTY PROUD! “HURRAY FOR SARAH PALIN!” they shout. She’s harvesting the grotesque seeds of hatred, we’ve fervently sewn! POPSAyoon wa Azan (A Loudmouth from the Extreme Right) From a wonderful Web site, Watching America, I found this column from Al Hayat, translated from Arabic, I believe, all about Coulter and Lieberman. Isn't it interesting how these two people are reviled even so far from home. I can kinda understand Lieberman being in their consciousness, but Coulter? Amazing!!

POPSThe Old, White Men Convention If giving tax breaks to major corporations, continuing to occupy a country that doesn’t want us there anymore, denying basic civil rights to all Americans, putting the education of children in the hands of private schools, sending more jobs overseas, and drilling for oil while waiting for alternative energy sources to magically appear is change, then I’m Ann Coulter. And I’m not Ann Coulter.

POPSDoes Age REALLY Matter? Age is such a subjective thing. A teenager thinks a 30 year old is "old" and a 5 year old thinks a teenager is old. But what is interesting to me at least, are the preconceived notions other's have of people at a certain age; how one should act, how one should feel; even giving a certain amount of worth to the individual depending on their age. Grow up society and get "old" really fast *LOL*

POPSNancy Pelosi vs. Rush Limbaugh Compare the inept inactivity of Nancy Pelosi on this gas crisis with the informed activity of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Rush is politically savvy; Pelosi is politically cunning. Rush confronts government gridlock; Pelosi creates it. Rush gives solutions; Pelosi ground-n-pounds them. Rush says to drill here and drill now; Pelosi says not to drill now or later. Rush motivates Americans to action; Pelosi paralyzes the House to inaction. I would bet Rush has had more positive influence on Congress through the years by his broadcasts than Pelosi ever will from her House throne. He is a leader among that league of extraordinary gentlemen and conservative cultural crusaders -- such as Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Dick Morris, Newt Gingrich, Ann Coulter, John Kasich and Frank Pastore, to name a few. I pray that we ultimately inspire a new generation of patriots with a fire like Patrick Henry had rather than what Nancy Pelosi has.

POPSAnti-Obama Movie On The Way: Citizens United One prominent Citizens United movie is “Celsius 41.11,” which says it tells the “truth behind the lies” of the Michael Moore movie “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Other Citizens United movies are critical of the United Nations, illegal immigration, and the American Civil Liberties Union, while one movie promotes Newt Gingrich and his ideas. The conservative group is also looking to the U.S. Supreme Court for help in advertising the anti-Hillary movie. It is opposing a federal regulation, under the McCain-Feingold Act, requiring that a disclaimer that identifies the group be placed at the end of television ads promoting the movie and criticizing Mrs. Clinton. It is also arguing that it should not have to disclose how much it spent to produce the movie and the ads, nor who contributed to it. The Supreme Court is scheduled to decide next week whether it will hear the case.

POPSYOU CAN'T APPEASE EVERYBODY "If Obama plans to drop nukes on Ahmadinejad prior to their little chat-fest, I'm all for it. But I don't think that's what liberals have in mind." :)

POPSMark Steyn Remembers William Buckley::Hilarious Gore Vidal Encounter The idea that William F Buckley represents a civilized conservatism lost to uncouth savages will no doubt become received wisdom in the same way that, upon his death, Ronald Reagan's success was universally ascribed by the media to an avuncular geniality wholly alien to the vengeful knuckledraggers of the Bush era. But Bill was lethal with opponents on the opposite team and on his own side, dispatching a liberal Republican like his own Senator, Lowell Weicker, to the trash can of history and purging conservatism of its crackpots so thoroughly that conspiracy theories, principally a hallmark of the right in the Fifties, were by the Sixties the more or less sole province of the left, where they've remained ever since.
