Top law firm pulls "hottest lawyer" contest from company blog
egoldstein
by egoldstein  6-18-2008    1
This is funny. For those who don't know, Skadden is a MAJOR law firm in new york city. Apparently they were blogging about their annual "hottest lawyer at the firm" contest and a bunch of higher ups got pissed off. I'm so curious to know who won. Anyone with a photo, please share :)

Unreleased Infocom Game Found on Old Network Drive
readmore
by readmore  4-22-2008
I thought this was an April Fool's joke at first, but it's not. This guy got his hands on an old hard drive from Infocom and found much buried treasure, including playable prototypes of a game that was never released that you can play on the website.

The e-mail inflates Obama's numbers by counting his cosponsored bills, but Sarah Binder, a fellow at the Brookings Institution and an expert on legislative politics, tells FactCheck.org that often "cosponsorship does not require a commitment of time, energy or resources – let alone the political or policy ingenuity that might generate a bill idea in the first place." Tallying sponsored bills, says Binder, is "a better metric of a senator's agenda, efforts and interests." Clinton has been in the Senate a little more than seven years; Obama, a little more than three. Using the numbers above, we calculate that Clinton has been the sole sponsor of a few more bills and resolutions per year – 51, to Obama's 43. And she has steered twice as many through the Senate and almost four times as many into law per year, on average, as Obama has. from THOMAS.gov, the Library of Congress' database of legislative information

Does anybody out there have a MAC AND BLACKBERRY?? I can't seem to find a way to sync email (2 accounts) to blackberry. Is the Iphone my only hope? Seems kind of ridiculous that Blackberry is not compatable with MAC. Pocketmac doesn't seem to do the trick.

The Political Filth Just Keeps On Coming
zasel
by zasel  1-11-2008    4
Why is it that the U.S. seems to need to indulge in filthy, vicious and personally destructive political elections. I know that election campaigns are not necessarily the friendliest of circumstances, but why is it necessary for opponents to destroy each other while trying to prove that either one is the best person for the job? As an American I am disgusted by the vile crap that is propagated by opposing campaigns. And the public, although they keep saying they do not approve of these kinds of campaign tactics, continue to respond to them thus encouraging the campaigns to maintain this vicious style.

Coward joe@metacolo Defends Clinton Sl*t.
davboz
by davboz   11-30-2007    1
joe@remailer.metacolo.coward SENT ME THIS: Hey, twit--Hillary has done nothing for which she has been put on trial and/found guilty. Meanwhile, how many elected GOP congressmen have been found guily of this and that crime and left office in disgrace or are currently under investigation? You let your silly assed brain and right-wing head sput shit about Dems when in fact the GOP has fucked over the contryk, driven us into debt, mired us down in Iraq over a batch of lies, and made our nation a fucking joke throughout the world. And did I mention the decline of the dollar and the housing mess, which is bound to get much worse? Nah. You have your finger up your ass and all you can do is spout your anti woman diatribe against Hillary...stop playing with yourself.

Need vs Want; I guess that is the real ? to be answered by our use of the internet. Thinking it would help, I used to be very cautious about what information I gave out, but that became irrelevant when Google, started putting my address, phone number and a map to my home in my Googled name search results in 2002.
