Swift Satire gores both sides
oscarrob
by oscarrob  10-13-2008    1
I think Jon Swift is one of the funnies guys in the blogosphere. He goes on to say: "But some conservative “intellectuals” like David Brooks subscribe to the canard that the conservative movement was defined by pointy-headed eastern elites like William Buckley, whose “entire life,” Brooks recently wrote, “was a celebration of urbane values, sophistication and the rigorous and constant application of intellect.....Brooks even goes so far as to claim that conservatives once valued “constant reading, historical understanding and sophisticated thinking.” We did? Since when? Does he honestly believe that the conservative movement was based on people who read books? Reagan wasn’t elected by the Harvard faculty. It was an angry mob tired of welfare queens and pinko fellow travelers selling us out to the Soviet Union that put him in office."

Communist Grunt Organization MoveOn.org Endorses Obama

(cont.)You go to this march with your anti war sign, and all these propagandists come up to you (many of them, not just one) and try to "convert" you to communism. It personally makes me sick. Of course I can't speak for anyone else, but I believe communism as a whole, in practice and in theory, to be the most atrocious idea for freedom I've ever heard. It makes sense if you already know the Illuminati were the ones responsible for communism in the first place. Karl Marx was a high level Freemason long after Freemasonry had been infiltrated by the Illuminati. He worked for the Illuminati bankers in New York City, where they taught him what he needed to do in Russia, then sent him on his merry way.

Minnesota Prosecution of Activists Leads Way to Characterize Dissent as Terrorism
katsteevns
by katsteevns  9-5-2008
(cont.)As the ACLU revealed in 2006, the Pentagon has surveilled Americans opposed to the Iraq war, including Quakers and student groups, and has shared this information with other government agencies through the Threat and Local Observation Notice (TALON) database. As well, the FBI “has collected extensive information on the tactics, training and organization of antiwar demonstrators and has advised local law enforcement officials to report any suspicious activity at protests to its counterterrorism squads, according to interviews and a confidential bureau memorandum,” Eric Lichtblau reported in November, 2003.

From Across the Pond - Step forward George Bush
cptenaud
by cptenaud  6-11-2008    5
From Blog: And who will be joining in the call: leading voices in the worlds of the arts and politics, including the novelist Iain Banks, the artist David Gentleman and the human rights campaigner Bianca Jagger, have now joined forces to call for Mr Bush to face a war crimes trial in the Hague. Wonder how the Brits will handle the security and where they will force their citizens to assemble. Labour Against the War Anti-war protest planned for Bush visit to London Stop the War Coalition (STWC) described Bush as a "war criminal" and said the protest will be held outside the British parliament on June 15. And a Happy Fathers Day jr. bush, by the way, why isn't your new son-in-law in a military uniform!

Operations in Oakland and other West Coast ports ground to a halt Thursday after ILWU workers stayed off the job, said Steve Getzug, spokesman for the Pacific Maritime Association, which represents companies that move cargo through the ports. "There is no activity," he said. "The ILWU struck West Coast ports and brought cargo operations to a virtual standstill." Music to my ears.

More Gestapo--big $$$$
papananook
by papananook  1-24-2008
Pentagon documents released by the ACLU show that the DOD monitored the activities of a wide range of peace groups, including Veterans for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Code Pink, the American Friends Service Committee, the War Resisters League, and United for Peace and Justice. The organization said the Pentagon’s misuse of the TALON database is just one example of increased government surveillance of innocent Americans. “It cannot be an accident or coincidence that nearly 200 anti-war protests ended up in a Pentagon threat database,” said Ann Beeson, the ACLU’s Associate Legal Director. “This unchecked surveillance is part of a broad pattern of the Bush administration using ‘national security’ as an excuse to run roughshod over the privacy and free speech rights of Americans.”
