POPSStevens Loses in Senate Race, Alaska Tuesday morning in the Capitol. Mr. Stevens’s defeat will strengthen a majority that Democrats sought to bolster Tuesday by allowing Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut, to retain his high-profile committee chairmanship. Instead, Democrats dropped Mr. Lieberman from another panel, delivering a mild rebuke for his strong support of Senator John McCain and other Republicans in this month’s elections.

"It's a resolution of reconciliation and not retribution...I appreciate it," Joementum is reported as saying. For those of you keeping track of these sorts of things, the Democratic congressional leadership has established that nothing you do, no matter how shitty and disloyal, will get you kicked out of the party. From the same leadership who established the principle that there's no such thing as an impeachable offense, this shouldn't come as a surprise. Seems bass-ackward to me, though -- he loses the seat where he was doing good work and keeps the position where he can do the most harm. This stands a good chance of biting us all in the ass down the road.

POPSObama Addresses 9/11 Government Complicity Bush says this, "For example, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed described the design of planned attacks of buildings inside the U.S. and how operatives were directed to carry them out. That is valuable information for those of us who have the responsibility to protect the American people. He told us the operatives had been instructed to ensure that the explosives went off at a high -- a point that was high enough to prevent people trapped above from escaping." Bush talks about EXPLOSIVES in building "Seven is Exploding" NYFD say Explosives brought down Towers

POPSBush handing over power to Obama with grace Graciousness & dignity describe President Bush and the First Lady. Class shows. Sadly, he has been demonized and falsely portrayed since election day 2000. He's determined not to repeat the rank pettiness of the Clinton transition and the months wasted during that time. I believe it will be with a cheerful heart that they both leave that House. Half of America has failed to appreciate the difficulties, strain and struggles this man has endured. Of course, he had no help or support or co-operation from the very Party that is demanding it now for their newly hailed leader.

POPSAn Indian Hymn to Obama America needs more money. Much of the infrastructure is second rate or crumbling. The education system calls for renovation. Almost half the population has no health cover. A completely new social security system needs to be put together . The disparities have reached unacceptable level...The US economy, in other words, has hit a wall. A deadend has come. A complete change of course is necessary. The question is to provide the country a more sustainable future. Obama's challenge is on the one hand to shepherd his countrymen through the present downturn. At the same time, he needs to explain to them that physical resources are finite. He must underscore that America needs to get to save again both at the national and family level. He is striding a political minefield. He will have to sound convincing when he says he does not hold a magic wand to wave the situation away.

POPSCracked-Pot Friends Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life!!

POPSWill Media Report Palestinian Campaigning for Obama from Gaza "A young Palestinian in a Gaza refugee camp is doing his part to get out the vote for Barack Obama. " Has this always been legal? I don't think I appreciate *outsiders* seeking to influence our elections. It's America's election after all. Something just doesn't seem right.

POPSParade draws fire for dropping 'Christmas' Well, that's a switch. Nobody will really care but I appreciate their stand. Less spending during the "Holiday Season" will be blamed on the economic slowdown, but frankly, Christians (and a lot of other people) are weary of spending $$ during a ratcheted up "Holiday" while rejecting the spirit and Reason for the celebration. I know for our family, the money spent has gotten way out of hand and the secularists fight against "Christ"mas has helped us get our priorities back in line.
