Bush popularity rating purportedly lowest in history

History will be kind to President Bush. Like Winnie Churchill who was discarded by the ungrateful Brits immediately after WWII, Americans have forgotten how Bush prevented any terrorist attacks on the homeland for 7 years. Americans will miss his strong leadership once the attacks resume under the obamanation

Could it be true?
earnric
by earnric  11-9-2008
I am only mildly hopeful... Remember, we currently have a dunce in office who's job approval rating is hovering around 28% ... yet only a relatively small majority elected him (looking at the popular vote). Anyway - I hope the populace's disdain for "smart people" is coming to an end.

Obama vs. Pelosi
merrie
by merrie  11-9-2008
Barack Obama obviously has thought carefully about mistakes made by previous Democratic presidential winners who wrongly believed a Congress controlled by their own party would help make them a success. That may be one reason why Mr. Obama has chosen Rahm Emanuel, a respected member of the Congressional leadership, to become his new White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Emanuel has a reputation as a tough partisan, but he has also exhibited impatience with left-wing members of his party who have overly ambitious ideological agendas. To the extent Mr. Obama becomes a successful president, it will be because he remains his own man and trusts the brilliant political instincts that have gotten him this far, this fast.

hahahahahahahahaha---this guy is so delusional...with all the damage Bush has done and is STIL tryin to do with his latest round of environmental deregulations designed to profit his cronies, I find it impossible to show him any respect whatsoever--He has no regard for people or the Earth! He should be prosecuted for war crimes and other felonies that he and Cheney have committed, not defended by this bozo.

With complete media bias assisting ZerObama's election efforts, with hundreds of millions illegally coming in from overseas (Arab) sources, isn't it amazing the Wonder Boy isn't ahead by 20 or 30 points? The race is tied because Americans are coming to realize His Holiness is selling snake oil.

Palin - Republican Party Infiltrator? Damning Video.
Spiritualmonkey
by Spiritualmonkey  10-9-2008    2
CONTD: "So…basically what he’s saying here, is that Palin’s philosophical loyalties lie with the Alaska Independence Party, but in order to get elected, she had to distance herself from the AIP and infiltrate the Republican Party, because they’re the only ones who can ever actually get voted into office. But don’t worry boys and girls, her heart is still with us, and her sympathies are with the agenda of the Alaskan Independence Party, namely, independence."

Congress approval rating just 10%
dl211
by dl211  10-3-2008
"A political establishment held in higher regard may have been able to hold together some kind of coalition of the willing," wrote Joel Achenbach in the Washington Post. "But distrust of the nation's leaders, from the leaders of Congress to the president, foreclosed that possibility." This was not mere rhetoric. Congress's public approval rating was down to 18% before the crisis hit. By some estimates, it is now 10% and falling. Washington has seen a "throw the bums out" mood before, notably Newt Gingrich's 1994 anti-government "Republican revolution". But this is something else. Like some others, Gingrich is calling for the resignation of Hank Paulson, the treasury secretary, for presiding over a train wreck and then failing to persuade people why $700bn was needed to get back on the rails.

Poll: Obama Leads Wisconsin
Wisco
by Wisco  10-1-2008    1
This one's a little personal. If I see one more electoral map that shows the Badger state as a toss-up, I'm going to hurt someone. Wisconsin isn't going McCain, it hasn't gone GOP since the Reagan landslide. Other fun results; Bush is really unpopular here -- only a 15% job approval rating. More evidence that McCain's done here. He's still spending money here, though. You can't watch TV for an hour without seeing a McCain ad. Glad to see him blowing that cash on a lost cause.

Beltway "Earmark" Business is Booming
merrie
by merrie  10-1-2008
.............Pelosi Uses Panic to Pass Pork........ Year-end spending bill doubles cost of earmarks, violates President’s earmark principles; Obey says pet projects added "the old fashioned way" Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) expressed disappointment that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi used the focus on the financial crisis to pass billions of dollars on thousands of new earmarks included in the continuing resolution (CR), which funds the government through March of next year. The $16.1 billion for 2,627 earmarks in the CR is nearly double the cost of pet projects in the same bills from last year, and almost four times the level the President said he would except. In January, the President promised to "veto any appropriations bill Congress sends him that does not cut the number and cost of earmarks in half."

Why am I continually surprised by the lack of prudent, substantial, progressive *WORK* from this Congress!!?? They need to return their paychecks because they have done nothing of substance since the Dems took over with their big promises. No wonder their approval rating are in the single digits. And to think they (and others) have the gall to blame the President for every thing while they run their lying lips, sit on their hands, and play with our $$, our security, our economy, our future. Will someone please vote their behinds out!?

Palin Loved on First Impression
merrie

Her political enemies will surface and bring up the non scandal of the trooper non-firing. She is loved by the people, but hated by the defeated, corrupt political establishment. She will have the same nationally. She has too much of the common touch for the establishment to love her. That fact will only endear her to the people. Note: All polling is from Rasmussen Reports. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/palin_makes_good_first_impression_is_viewed_more_favorably_than_biden

Democrats have done what in 2 years?
The REAL Napster
by The REAL Napster  8-29-2008    7
They can lambast all they want about the 'past 8 years' Truth be told the Democrats have effective control of the house and senate as well as a majority of the governorships in the U.S. since November, 2006. We already know that the 'Speaker of the House' is a sad joke. And Congress actually has as low (if not lower) approval rating than the current president. So, I ask- democrats already have control, now what have you done with it? Nothing. Same as usual.
