POPSgado gado - Indonesian steamed vegetable salad with peanut sauce Sudar hopes to open his own Indonesian restaurant some day. Indonesia is made up of more than 17,000 islands, each with its distinctive flavor profile. Sumatra is spicy; Java is sweet. He believes the complexity of the cuisine has yet to be fully explored in this country. "I think the cuisine has a lot of potential here," Sudar says with a smile. "There are no famous Indonesian chefs here yet. I'd like to be the first one."

POPS"God Punishes Reps. w/Hurricane Guztav" Dems. Concern Troll facade exposed. In Fowler's thought - expressed quite easily ~ and shared by more than a few Leftists ~ one does not know which nastiness is greater: (a)that displayed while enjoying the threat to the people of N.O because it interrupts the Reps., or (b) the show of disgust they muster when accusing the Right of that very thinking. Soooo often, when they habitually accuse another of a certain despicable pattern of thought or feeling, weeelll it is their own scent they're smelling. When a main element of the character make-up of a group is the pomp and self-aggrandizement causing them to believe their very body odors are sweeter than their counterparts, well of course they will blame them upon noticing a fowl stench rising. Thing is, it is most likely their own aroma which first wafts nostril-ward. ;-)

POPSIt's the smell of the future :) "For example, the aroma of virgin olive oil stems from the volatiles synthesized by olives. By modifying the activity of enzymes that generate these substances, it may be possible to alter the flavor of the resulting oils."

POPSThe Nose, an Emotional Time Machine Importantly, the olfactory cortex is embedded within the brain’s limbic system and amygdala, where emotions are born and emotional memories stored. That’s why smells, feelings and memories become so easily and intimately entangled

POPSNobody Knows Ahhh. If I close my eyes, I'm back visiting at my grandparents home on a Sunday Evening, where some variety show would display this sort of performance. I can smell the aroma in my mind. You can never truly go home again. But I like this home too. Thank you, Lord, for both of them.

POPSAroma Resturant goes High Tech So now we have to have a London Blogger and Podcaster dinner here. Maybe a special event, not the usual monthly meetup. I also have to go spend some time in the Wine Cellar/Lounge!

POPSBizarre Botany As a biology student in college I've always found plants fascinating. In most cases, size is not an advantage. At least in the aroma department. On the plus side, it does serve the plant well!
