These are the causes, but the comments below the article are very interesting too: Lifestyle and Diet Factors • Smoking and second-hand smoke. • Diet–too much meat, not enough fruits and vegetables. • Suntanning. • Absence of UV sunlight in some regions, reducing cancer-protecting vitamin D. • Obesity, and lack of regular exercise. Other Food Factors • Processed food such as nitrosamines, aspartame, some food colorants. • Bovine growth hormone in milk. • Some salt-cured, pickled, and smoked food. • Sugar and alcohol consumption. • Absence of cancer-protecting compounds in food not grown organically. • Food contaminated with pesticides and herbicides. Occupational Hazards • Workplace exposure to carcinogens including solvents, heavy metals, radiation, pesticides, diesel fuel, benzene, asbestos. Radiation • Solar UV radiation from ozone depletion. • Ionizing radiation from diagnostic x-rays, especially CT scans and mammograms; nuclear medicine, radiation thera

by katsteevns  9-22-2008
(cont.)About 1,444,920 new cases of cancer were expected to be diagnosed last year–while 559, 650 people were expected to die from the disease, according to the American Cancer Society. That’s more than 1,500 people a day. What a startling statistic. In the book Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic (New Society Publishers, 2007) by Liz Armstrong et al, the No. 4 solution is “Eat a Healthy Diet.” Listed within are the 10 Foods and Drinks to Limit or Eliminate:

Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World [Aspartame documentary]

That diet soda is probably destroying your brain. If you don't want to get overweight, drink water and get more movement into your life. But please, STOP DRINKING THIS CANCEROUS CHEMICAL THAT THE CORPORATIONS MAKE SO MUCH MONEY OFF! And for HEAVEN'S SAKE, please don't give this stuff to your kids. That's borderline abuse.

...why do you suppose it's DIET soda, specifically? My guess is it has something to do with either phenylalanine or aspartame (you will find one or the other in most sugar free products).

Sweet Misery: Aspartame Documentary
WIDEEYECINEMA
by WIDEEYECINEMA  3-2-2008
Dr. Woodrow C. Monte wrote: “Methanol has no therapeutic properties and is considered only as a toxicant. The ingestion of two teaspoons is considered lethal in humans” (Monte, Woodrow, “Aspartame: Methanol and the Public Health”, Journal of Applied Nutrition, Vol. 36, Number 1, 1984, p. 44). Though it can hardly be considered good fortune to have an immediate reaction to aspartame, at least you are spared the potential long-term ticking time-bomb of a large array of neurological illnesses. These include, but are not limited to Brain Cancer, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Graves Disease, Chronic Fatigue, MS and Epilepsy.

FDA Warns about Flu Drug Risks -- Rumsfeld's Tamiflu Included
blueridge
by blueridge  11-24-2007    2
Rumsfeld was the one who got Tamiflu approved and recommended in case of Bird Flu pandemic. Problem is that some children have died, or have psychotic episodes on the drug. Interesting that two of Rumsfeld's drug approvals are for neurotoxins, aspartame (NutraSweet) and Tamiflu, the flu drug.

NutraSweet Story: Rumsfeld and Aspartame
blueridge

Read the whole article to see how this poisonous neurotoxin was pushed on the unwary and ignorant public by former Searle CEO Donald (neocon) Rumsfeld (who probably profited from the stock options afterward). Stop eating anything with NutraSweet if you value your brain function.

Poisoned By Sugar-Free Gum?
DizzyDezzi
by DizzyDezzi  6-20-2007    1
First off, I can't stand the taste of any of the "fake" sugars. Even if someone doesn't tell me what I am eating is "sugar-free", I can always tell by the first bite (and there won't be a second). Secondly, when I have made the mistake of consuming such items that are not labeled properly (some coffee creamers are not, I had to go on the web to find a creamer I used daily had fake sugar in it, since it didn't say so on the label, I thought I was just being paranoid about the taste). I started doing research on the creamer when I realized that right after my morning coffee I was lethargic, nauseous, and was in bed with migraines EVERY DAY. As soon as I cut that creamer, as well as other hidden fake sugars in my home (including Splenda and Ace-K), I stopped being nauseas and I only have migraines after a hard night at work and then, only once a month. I am even more scrupulous now about labels. I chew old-fashioned "Juicy Fruit".
